Such good and bright students are the gems of an institution. They are the pillars of a nation. Such students become ideal citizens, politicians, statesmen and leaders. I think an ideal student always takes an ctive part in acedemic as well as in extracurricular activities of his college. He is hard-working. He is both attentive and punctual in his studies. He is always in the good books of his teacher. According to me an ideal student is disciplined and obedient. He is not a bookworm but an all rounder. Games and studies go side by side with him. He knows that soundmind lives in a sound body. He always sticks to his right ideals and aims. Simple living and high thinking is the motto of his life.An ideal student is the true patriot. He is prepared to serve his country heart and soul and sacrifice himself for the welfare of his country. It is his deep-rooted wish that his country should occupy the place of pride among the nations of the world. Since our country is passing through a difficult period of struggle, it is badly in need of ideal students and citizens. The nation can reach the zenith of glory if our students become ideal and participate in the task of national reconstruction. An ideal student is the spark of hope, glory and prosperity of his country. The students of today are the leaders of tommorrow. The future of the country depends upon students only. Every

student should, therefore, try to become an ideal student. An ideal student is ideal in his work, conductand thought. I think each student should be an ideal student. 2 'The child is father of the man.' He who is a student today will be a responsible citizen tomorrow. Childhood is a stage of formation of character. A child is sent to the school for essential training for his future life. School is a place where a student learns the value of discipline in life. Here he is under the direct training and control of his teachers who appraise his talent and guide him in his studies and in the improvement of his habits. Here he- is given the shape of a perfect human being who has to face the world in future. In this training ground, all efforts are made to mould a student's life into an ideal character so that he may not have any problem in his later life. He is praised for his good work, and punished for his folly. Thus he comes to know what is good and what is bad in this world. When this sense in him is properly developed, he becomes as ideal student. He can prove himself to be honest, obedient and bold in his character. A free country like India demands many things from an ideal student. An ideal student is he who is conscious about his duties and responsibilities towards his family, his society and his country. An ideal student is he who bears a good moral character, who leads a simple life with noble thinking, and who is patriotic, respectful towards his superiors, and compassionate towards his juniors. If a student scores high marks in an examination, it does not mean that he should be called an ideal student, unless he possesses all those good qualities. He may set an academicals record in the university, but he may prove to be a failure in his real life, whereas, a student, who may not make a bright academicals career, may prove himself an ideal student by virtue of his noble character. An ideal student respects and loves his parents and teachers. He behaves, both in his family life and his school life, like a sensible person, and shares equally the joys and sorrows of others. He is truthful, loyal and disciplined. He is the future ideal citizen of the world. An ideal student is a true patriot. He does not hesitate to sacrifice his personal interests, when the question of safety of his motherland comes. In a natural calamity anywhere in the country, he volunteers himself for the service to the distressed. He gives preference to humanity than anything else in life. An ideal student is strong, both in mind and body. He practices physical exercises regularly in order to keep his body and mind fit. He is loved by all. He is the pride of his parents, his society, and his country. 3 Who is an ideal student? Some may think that an ideal student should be brilliant in his studies and always stand at the tope of the successful students. But it is a wrong thinking. He should be well in his studies and his scores should be well above 50

percent. But he need not be brilliant. Brilliant students are often regard themselves as superior beings. Sometimes a brilliant student may be a bookworm. But an ideal student is hard-working, polite and gentle. He is intelligent and practical and never neglects studies or other activities of the school. An ideal student is ever cheerful, positive, optimistic, cooperative disciplined and labourious. He is obedient and respectful. He pays proper respect to teachers, elders and his senior students. He is punctual, regular and cooperative and helps other students as best as he can. He spends some of his spare time in the library, reading books, magazines and newspapers but is never a bookworm. Wherever he goes he spreads good cheer, warmth and friendliness. He is obedient but sometimes may be a little naughty. He enjoys good things of life in moderation and never acquires bad habits. He always keeps away from the bad company. He aims at all-round development of his growing personality. He loves studies as much as games and sports. He takes daily some physical exercise to keep his body fit and trim. He believes in the saying that "All work and no play makes jack a dull boy".
