HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY NEW SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 9:00 & 10:45A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 73-75; 1 Corinthians 1 Monday, August 6 Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Our Heavenly Savior: In order to learn how to witness let me look at Christs example. HE WITNESSED EVERYWHERE. He witnessed to the woman by the well in Samaria. He witnessed through his teaching in the temple. Whether in the lakes boat or on the mountains brow, his words told the gospel. His mighty prayers were as loud as his magnificent preaching. Father, make me more like him! HE WITNESSED IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE. Scribes and Pharisees could not shut his mouth. He, even while being judged 1 Tim. 6:13 before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; HE WITNESSED SO CLEARLY AND ACCURATELY THERE WAS NO MISUNDERSTANDING. Lord, make my life a clear testimony like his! Make me like the clear, bubbling brook, not like the muddy stream, so my hearts love to God and man are visible every where to every one. Father, make me more like him! Dont let me say, I am trueMAKE me true. Dont let me boast of my integrity; MAKE me upright. Let my witness be so complete that people cannot help but see it, no matter what words I say. But then, Lord Jesus, warm my lips with a coal of fire from the altar. Let me speak like Spirit-anointed lips ought to! Eccl. 11:6 In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good. Let me do so by the Spirits power for Jesus sake today. Amen. A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 82-84; 1 Corinthians 4 Thursday, August 9 Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 76-78; 1 Corinthians 2 Tuesday, August 7 John 6:10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. Holy Lord and Heavenly Father: I know I have the bread of life, and I am willing to serve. A lack of being acknowledged or recognized will not prevent me from being used. If I properly dispense the dollar menu of the loaves and fishes I have, I am doing you great service. In due time, when you want me, you know where to find my life. The Devil has been whispering to me, What is the use of you trying to do anything? Dont you see there are thousands in need in this city? He whispers to me, You cannot do any good. Satan is a liar. He knows that by your sustaining grace I can serve you, and he is afraid of how well I will! He is terrified of what great damage I can do him with what little that I have. That is why he lies! Zech. 4:10 For who hath despised the day of small things? Do not let me side with Satan in doing that! I know I am poor and empty of talent. But what can anyone do without you? The thing you honor is humility and weakness in self. I dont mind anymore Lord, if I am derided and despised by othersas long as I am used by you! Every man for himself, is their law. Look out for number one. Yes, but the lad you use cannot be selfish. The Devil tells me to, Make money first. Stick to working, then you can give money instead of serving God. At that moment remind me of the barley loaves and two fishes. Make me bring my small all to Christ, because after the thousands are fed, I will get more for myself than if I had hoarded it all away. Anything I can take from self and give to you, Jesus, is well invested! I give you my all right now. Help me by your Holy Spirit. Amen. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 85-87; 1 Corinthians 5 Friday, August 10 2 Cor. 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. Our Lord and Our Master: In how many of our actions do we betray disbelief of you? Like the children of Israel in the wilderness, you might well say of us, Num. 14:11 How long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have showed among them? You have been very faithful to us. In no one instance has there been a breach of your promise. You have tried our faith by fire, but we still have to say, Psa. 119:75 I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me. You brought us low sometimes, but underneath have still been the everlasting arms. You brought us into the wilderness sometimes, but you have furnished a table for us there in the presence of our enemies. Your love has been perfected, even in our weakness! You are goodness, truth, grace and lovingkindness; therefore we bless your name. Now blot out our sins. Let our unbelief be forgiven. Help us stand with no sin on our consciences, but be washed through Jesus blood. Give us the enjoyment of such confidence with you that we can lift up our faces without a cloud crossing our countenance, and can continue to grow in our trust of you. Part of that Lord, will only come if you teach us to be resigned to your will. Teach us to delight in your word. Teach us to have no separate will from your own. Teach us to trust that everything your providence does is good, and the very best that could be for us. Help us leave our worries in your hands as we leave this time of prayer. This do that Jesus may be exalted in our midst and our ministry. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 79-81; 1 Corinthians 3 Wednesday, August 8 Zeph. 3:14 Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem. Oh My Loving Father: I cry for revival, but I have to realize: you are completely content with this church because you know what we are yet to be. You see us as fair, because you know what we will look like after the washing for the wedding. My sun goes down and I dread the darkness, but you see the morning. Help me better understand how the dews of the night refresh my garden for you. I measure by the hour, but you calculate by eternity. Help me correct my shortsighted judgment with your infallible knowledge, and rest in you. There are three things for me to do. MAKE ME BE HAPPY. Only the true Christian can sing while drinking a bitter cup. Whenever the enemy seems to prevail, teach me at that time to praise, because victory will come with my song of faith and trust in you. It must be puzzling to Satan to hear singing when he puts his foot down on me. Let me determine to be happier when the Devil thinks I am downcast. The more opposition, the more rejoicing. The more discouragement, the more confidence. Make it fine to BE ALONE IN THE WARFARE. Why do I think not? If I am lonely there is more room for God. When the deserters have cleared out, then every corner can be filled with the Spirit. MAKE ME FEARLESS OF EVERYONE BUT YOU, and tie that knot of faith around the throat of unbelief. When fear comes today, help me drive it away. There should be no room for it. I need to be zealous. I need to do more for God. Let me plan great things for the future. The Devil does not take a day off. Help me completely kill his falsehood and deception for Jesus sake. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 88-90; 1 Corinthians 6 Saturday, August 11 Psa. 139:7-8 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. God of Ages and Ageless God: I worship you. Before your throne I bow my heart with joy. Make me sincerely say, I delight in God. There was a time when I feared you Lord, with the fear of bondage. Now I reverence you with the fellowship of love. The thought of your omniscience used to scare me. I wanted to run from your oversight, but today Lord, I want to find you. My longing is to feel your presence throughout my day. It is heavenly if you are with me, and not just within me. My sick bed is soft and safe if you are there. The furnace of affliction grows cool when you are there. And my closet of prayer is the house of God when you are here. Come near Lord, to all your children today. Some of us are very weak in body because of sickness, or faint in heart because of opposition. Soon Lord, lay your right hand on us and say, Fear not. Maybe the world is attempting to tempt me today. Come near and kill the influence of sin with your superior presence! Even to worship does not seem easy sometimes. The Dragon pursues me, and the flood out of his mouth washes away my devotion. Give us wings like those of an eagle, so each of usin our church and abroad on the mission fieldcan fly away into the place you have prepared for us. Give us closer fellowship with you there. Job 39:27 Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high? Help me rest in your presence today, because only then can I display your power. This do to the glory and honor of Jesus name. Amen.

I HAVE decided to follow Jesus;

I have decided to follow Jesus; I have decided to follow Jesus; No turning back, no turning back. The world behind me, the cross before me; The world behind me, the cross before me; The world behind me, the cross before me; No turning back, no turning back. Though none go with me, still I will follow; Though none go with me, still I will follow; Though none go with me, still I will follow; No turning back, no turning back. Will you decide now to follow Jesus? Will you decide now to follow Jesus? Will you decide now to follow Jesus? No turning back, no turning back. Sadhu Sundar Singh

3) 4) Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan 5)

Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK

INSTRUCTIONS:

1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD

The key word is relationships. Building relationships makes you feel a part. Building relationships around the word of God and ministry will make you be a part.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God) Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of walking Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in the

with us) Word) Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
