News from Randy and Ronda

To Israel with Love
We always say; when God opens a door, you should walk through it. Well, He did and we went! Ever since our 2007 trip to Israel, we have dreamed of returning there not as tourists, but as servants and ministers to the people of this beautiful country. This year, God so graciously opened the door for us to do just that and for 24 days in May, our home was located on none other than the Mount of Olives where every morning we looked out to see the Temple Mount and the Eastern Gate. While in Israel, we worked closely with our good friend Teresa under various agencies, teaching conversational English, feeding refugees in Tel Aviv, visiting Palestinian homes and handing out bibles and tracts to many people who desperately need to know about Jesus. We walked the streets of Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Hebron, and several other cities where we met many gracious and kind Palestinians all of whom treated us with warm hospitality. We had the opportunity to spend hours talking with a young man who had many questions about the Trinity, the Bible versus the Koran and who the one true God is. As we fed the Sudanese and Eritrean refugees, they shared with us their horror stories of setting out for Israel in high hopes of finding jobs only to now find themselves homeless instead; living in a park with nothing but the clothes on their back. We gave them Bibles in their native language, shared the Gospel and showed them the love of Jesus. Yes for 24 glorious days, we lived in and among Jews and Muslims, giving smiles, hugs, food, Bibles, tracts and love. It was an amazing and exciting adventure that we will certainly never forget! As one young Jewish man said to us as he accepted his New Testament written in Hebrew, this was a Divine Appointment and that was certainly our thoughts as well. The DR Roll Out New Orleans Southern Baptist Convention On June 13th we joined our team in Atlanta for an adventure we will call the DR Roll Out. This year, The North American Mission Board and Southern Baptist Disaster Relief added 3 Tractor trailers, 4 Ford 550s, a command post unit, mud out trailers, a pressure washing trailer and volunteer village to its fleet of equipment; which can be deployed within 24 hours of a major disaster. This equipment will be used to
serve 42 state conventions and will be a critical resource in assisting many people affected by all types of disasters. On Friday June 16th, we started our day washing, cleaning and shining the fleet of equipment before delivery to the convention center in downtown New Orleans, LA. During the 3 day convention, many attendees came by to ask questions about disaster relief and to view our impressive display of the new Disaster Relief equipment It was truly a rewarding time to be part of the DR Roll Out and witness how God is using disasters and volunteers to reveal His love! We left New Orleans headed for the Arkansas Baptist Convention where Randy presented the Operational Stress First Aid and Evangelism class to the key leaders of the Arkansas Disaster Relief. We returned home exhausted but excited to see God on the move!

Trainings for the NC Disaster Relief

Our 2012 Disaster Relief Training for NC Baptist Men began in March and ended on June 30th. During each of these training events, we have the opportunity to speak to around 150 to 450 volunteers; encouraging and challenging them with our favorite topic, Evangelism. We are happy to report that due to the large number of volunteers signed up for Disaster Relief training this year, an extra training weekend was added resulting in Randy speaking to a approximately 2300 Southern Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers! We always leave these events energized from seeing our Christian brothers and sisters ready to assist homeowners and share the Gospel who have experienced the wrath of a natural disaster.

Biltmore Baptist Church - Camp Agape - Benton, TN

Prayer Needs * Randy as he serves in CO coordinating wildfire cleanup (7-31 to 8-12) * Randy & Ronda as we travels to Iowa for National Disaster Relief Roundtable & as Randy trains in Leadership Evangelism & Operational Stress First Aid (8-12 to 8-17) * Ronda as she travels with Donna to Vancouver, BC for street evangelism & support of new church plant (9-13 to 9-18)

Our home church, Biltmore Baptist, asked us to lead a summer mission trip for families and that we did! A team of 15 left the church on Tuesday, July 10th for Camp Agape located in Benton, TN. Our good friend Donna Guillot joined us from Louisiana as well as some new faces from our church. We had a great time and it was all in the name of Jesus! Our first stop was a nursing home where we joined in for their morning worship service. We visited and encouraged the residents before delivering them back to their rooms but to be honest, we were the ones who were encouraged most by their beautiful smiles, creative hats, and spunky attitudes. One sweet 102 yr old resident named Mary testified to us all about her deep love for the Lord and that her secret to a joyful life is found in Luke 10:27 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength and with all your mind and love your neighbor as yourself. We all left inspired and lifted up by their words. Our next stop was the Benton Boys and Girls club where around 60 local youth ranging from ages 5 to 15 attend day camp. It was truly a joy for us to show these kids the love of Jesus as we played games, told Bible stories and shared the Gospel with them. We even had the kids memorize the verse Luke 10:27. (Ms Marys secret to life and what seemed to quickly become our trip motto) We spent one morning at a local clothing-exchange center where needy people receive, free of charge or can exchange, clothing and other necessities. While there, some cleaned the center while others tagged, sorted, straightened and put out the donated clothes. After Ronda gave a prayerwalking presentation to our group, we prayerwalked the center then stopped by a local food pantry to encourage and pray for the director, James Brown. The next day, we visited an elementary school where we assisted a teacher from a local church prepare her classroom for the upcoming school year. After a quick tour of the school, we prayerwalked the entire campus; praying for the students, staff and parents. Other team members worked the week installing a new floor for a single mom. On Wednesday evening, Randy had the privilege of teaching evangelism to approximately 35 members at a local church. This was an exciting time as the person headed up this training effort was a 17 year old young man with a heart for the lost and thought his entire church could benefit from this training. God is truly doing a work in the Shady Springs community and in the young people of Shady Springs Baptist Church! Each evening, our team gathered for a time of worship, and learning as Donna and Ronda led nightly devotions on the 4 Keys to Hearing Gods Voice. It was a very spiritual experience for us all and will be utilized for many years to come. Thank you Donna for all the time you invested in these 4 days for your fellow campers and also to the Camp Agape staff who instantly became family and made our week very special. Somehow, I see a return trip to Camp Agape in Benton, TN! This is our 6th year in ministry and each year continues to be a roller coaster ride for Jesus as He continuously opens avenues of ministry and we delight in walking through them. He has provided for us in many ways through the hands of His children and it is because of your obedience, that we are able to continue on this journey. We ask that you pray for us as the Lord brings us to mind and would you prayerfully consider partnering with us by giving a monthly tax deductible gift that will enable us to continue to serve in this ministry. We know that God has the ability to provide in a way that is beyond our greatest prayers. We thank you in advance for your prayers, your friendship, your continued encouragement and your financial support! May God continue to bless all of you in every way!
