SPECIFICATION PACKAGE FOR EPOXY FLOORING AT

RECOMMENDATION FOR SPECIFICATION FOR Epoxy FLOORING

We propose any one system of System I & System II over concrete / kota stone : System I
Apconpoxy 217- 3 mm thick medium duty chemical and abrasion resistant epoxy floor screed with Apconpoxy SL -1500 2 mm - thick epoxy floor topping of Apex Encon projects pvt ltd

Apconpoxy SL-1500 2mm thickness

It is self smoothing epoxy floor topping. Its provide a dense, impervious, coloured and chemically resistant floor surface. It is fast application and having good abrasion resistance, attractive, hygienic, high compressive strength. Apconpoxy SL1500 consists of graded aggregates bound in a pigmented epoxy resin binder. It is supplied as a four-component system, pre- weighed for on-site mixing. When laid, it provides a smooth, light-reflective surface It is available in a range of standard colours.

Chemical resistance

Apconpoxy SL- 1500 has excellent resistance to a wide range of industrial chemicals. Specific details available on request
Application Method Laying procedure

Apconpoxy SL system should be installed by specialist applicators, who must follow procedures. Priming: Priming is not required on epoxy underlay Apconpoxy 217. Apconpoxy Sl1500 topping. The Apconpoxy SL1500 topcoat is supplied in pre-weighed packs consisting of base, hardener, colour pot and filler; ready for on-site mixing. Mix the base, colour pot and hardener thoroughly followed by addition of filler and further mixing for at least 3 minutes till a uniform homogenous mix is obtained. Once mixed it should be spread on the substrate using a notched trowel at 2mm mm thickness. The spread material should be rolled firmly using a spiked roller to remove entrapped air and then allowed to set for at least 18 hours.

Foot traffic can be allowed 24 hours after application and full traffic after the full-cure period of 7 days. System I Apconpoxy 217-3 mm thickness
It is medium duty chemical and abrasion resistant epoxy based floor screed. It has exceptional resistance to abrasion and wide range of chemicals. It is seamless, easily laid and proven performance epoxy screed. It is three part solvent free combination of epoxy resin, modified amine hardeners filled with specially graded, high crushing strength, chemically inert aggregates. The finished, cured floor has a slightly granular texture of uniform self colour. Surface requirement Substrate should be clean, dry, sound, laitance free, oil & grease free and not suffer or be likely to suffer from rising dampness so suitable damp proof membrane should be installed, if required. Substrate should not have a moisture content greater than 5 %.

Testing substrate for relative humidity Before the application of epoxy toppings, the concrete substrate shall be checked for moisture content with a Thermo-Hygrometer. For every 500 m2, a minimum of 5 readings should be taken to assess the average moisture content in the substrate. Apconpoxy treatment shall be taken up only if the RH is 75 or lower (5% Moisture content & below) Priming All surface of the concrete substrate should be primed with Apconpoxy 21P designed for maximum absorption and adhesion to concrete substrate . Add the entire contents of the hardener tin to the base tin and mix the two primer components thoroughly for at least two minutes. Once mixed, primer should be applied immediately to the prepared substrate using stiff brush or roller. Mixing It should be mixed properly. A suitable forced action mixer such as paddle fitted into a heavy duty , slow speed, electric hand drill or a similar equipment should be used. Empty the entire contents of the hardener tin into resin base container and mix thoroughly until homogenous. Aggregates in the beg should be blended well manually before adding to mixed resin and hardener, add the aggregates slowly to mixed resin and hardener and continue mixing for further 2-3 minutes until homogenous. Application The mixed Apconpoxy 217 should be spread to uniform thickness on the prepared primed surface using steel trowel.

Apconpoxy Sl1500 2mm thickness

This topping system is same as in system I PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN FOR THE PROTECTION AND DURABILITY OF APCONPOXY FLOORING: 1. 2. Light foot traffic can ply only after 24 hours of finishing the Apex treatment. However it can be subjected to regular traffic only after 7 days of finishing the treatment, by which time it will have fully cured. Heavy objects or objects with protrusions shall not be placed or dragged on the floor treated surface. It is recommended that heavy steel bins and other metal objects should not be placed directly on the epoxy floor. They should be placed on rubber or wooden supports.

3.

4.

All trolleys moving on the floor shall have polyurethane wheels, which will not damage the Apconpoxy treatment. Trolleys with MS or CI wheels shall not be used.

Important Note: Apex will not be liable for any scratches or damage to the floor caused by materials being dropped or dragged on the flooring. While Apex and its authorized applicators will take every care to test the substrate moisture and proceed with application only if the moisture content is less than 5%, neither Apex or its authorized applicators will be liable for any blisters or other damages caused to the epoxy flooring system by rising dampness (moisture or water vapour rising from the ground through the concrete floor) as these are caused by factors beyond our control.
