Our Philosophy

The Camp Achdus Philosophy is that the chinuch (formative Jewish education) of our children requires year-round involvement, and that the summer period is not only critical to maintaining the childs achievements, but specifically endowed with channels to amplify and to reinforce them through the unique experience that summer camp affords.

Giving children a sense of enduring personal achievements and success that will remain with them throughout their lives.

Our Mission
The Camp Achdus mission is to inspire Jewish children of diverse backgrounds to discover the beauty of living a committed Jewish life by using our unique strategy.

Our Strategy
We hire counselors with whom campers can relate, who are excited, devoted, and passionate about their heritage, and who will build lasting relationships with their campers. We create a non-pressured and incentive-driven learning experience to allow campers to enjoy and find fulfillment in their studies without tests and grades. We provide venues for campers to develop a sense of selfconfidence through accessing their creative talents, such as music, arts, and drama.
I am so impressed with the Achdus staff - The counselors are very interactive with the campers and are always looking for ways to include them and help them develop socially

I just want to speak about the importance of camp in the summer time. They should be in a zone where you know exactly what theyre doing and how they spend their time. (In camp) they are under a situation where they are organized, their time is organized, their life is organized... the children grow there, they learn every day, they daven every day, together, its a setting that is so proper for the time they have in the summer. Whatever happens in the summertime, they carry along afterwards for the next year.

- HaRav Shmuel Kamenetsky Shlita

Many children that we try to reach during the school year, through all kinds of incentives - and we cant. We find in camp... these very same children are put in a more relaxed atmosphere and (it) gets them on board much faster - Ive seen this many many different times. They (Camp Achdus) try to see to it that these children will grow, not just have a good time but to grow in becoming better people, more mature people more sympathetic people, more understanding people, they do it well - I have met the children who have gone to the camp and the success rate is phenomenal. Its something extraordinary.

- HaRav Yaakov Bender Shlita

Torah Education
Customized daily learning with experienced Rebbeim and counselors including great incentives such as Achdus Peanuts, a special camp currency used to promote Torah learning and middos (good character traits) throughout the summer.

Social Development
Social development is emphasized in team sports and games where campers learn about team effort.

Aquatics
Multi-leveled daily instructional swim and recreational swimming under the direction of the camp aquatics team.

Music Instruction
Campers are introduced to and can learn to play saxophone, trumpet, or violin from an experienced instructor.

Camp Choir
Vocal training and camp performances, as well as preparations for an upcoming album titled Zmiros Vsishbachos (Songs & Praises) featuring Shabbos melodies.

The boys are tan and fit and always come home excited looking forward to the following day. Torah, Sports and Summer - a successful recipe that can not be beat. We are truly fortunate to have Camp Achdus.
