The department offers one under graduate programme in Information Technology and two post graduate programmes in Information Technology and Biometrics & Cyber security.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP Today open source software has become critical in every organization. Almost all application shall be built using open source software, be it telecommunication systems, inventory, personal productivity applications, and operating systems amongst others. Software like Python, LATEX, SciLab, Open office and PHP plays a significant role today in software industry. PHP, a server side scripting language is used for developing interactive websites. Scilab is a cross-platform numerical computational package and is one of the open source alternative to MATLAB. Python, object oriented programming language works successfully in all platforms. GIMP is a freely distributed piece of software for tasks such as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. This workshop will provide real time training on the latest developments in software mentioned above. This will benefit faculty colleagues and students, teaching in engineering and science institutes, who wish to use open source software tools for all their computational and teaching needs. Software's Spoken Tutorial contents will be given to all the participants who are attending the workshop. This initiative is taken by IIT Bombay to impart knowledge in open source software. The participants have to appear for 45 min online test which will be conducted a week later by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay. Based on their performance, a certificate will be awarded to the participants.
