Game Design Sentinel

Game type: shooter Arcade shooter featuring an Imperial Guard Sentinel and its battles against various foes. Game advancement: Levels of difficulty Story: Sentinel Pilot has been trapped in the Warp and he must drive his mighty walker back to his own reality. Beware of Evil ponies.

Character design
The Sentinel has the following characteristics: Hull Points the amount of damage it can take before it explodes Armor rating the amount of armor that absorbs KINETIC damage Shield rating the amount of shielding that absorbs ENERGY damage State (Shaken, Stunned, Immobilized)

In its travels on various worlds the driver has made many modifications turning his vehicle into a powerful walker, with deceptively fragile looks but potent weapons. Movement The game features movement on a single level, horizontal with possbility to move up via a modification. It treats slopes as horizontal movement.

Sentinel collectible modifications


The modificatons Sentinel can pick are divided into three categories: Defensive, Offensive, Power Ups. Defensive modifications 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. EM Shielding absorbs Energy damage of the EM Type and partial Thermal damage Thermal Shielding absorbs Energy damage of the Thermal type and partial EM Reactive Armor reduces explosive damage by various level depending on upgrade's level Refractive Armor reduces kinetic damage by various levels depending on upgrade's level Void Shields reduces all damage for 100% for n seconds (to be decided)

Offensive modifications 1. Overcharged burst (applies to Multilaser) fire a burst of laser fire, increasing shot speed by 25% for n seconds. 2. Depeleted duranium Shell (applies to Autocannon) fire an anti-armor shell at an armored target, decreasing armor by X percent. 3. Scorching Star shot (applies to Plasma Cannon) a very large plasma shot, causing an extended radius damage zone 4. Deatomizer Charge (applies to Multi-Melta) Depletes 3x Melta Charges, for 300% multimelta damage. 5. Typhoon Barrage (applies to Typhoon missile pods) discharges Typhoon Missile Pods into the air knocking down flying targets across a defined area.

Power Up modifications 1. Wasp Jump-Jets Jump Jet upgrade, allowing vertical movement, can be acquired from defeating Eldar Wasps (permanent upgrade). 2. Mechanicum Targeter Array increases critical strike chance by 25% on locked target (on cooldown) 3. Mechanicum Cogitator allows firing at two independent targets with two various weapons (example: Multilaser shoots infantry, Typhoon missiles shoot air targets). 4. Eldar Focusing Matrix increases damage of all energy weapons by 5% 5. Fusion Cooling System reduces time between shots for all Melta weapons by 10% 6. Ventilation dispenser dispenses plasma gas from Plasma weapons in an AOE around the Sentinel, causing damage to all enemies within 5 meters and cooling down plasma weaponry. 7.
