Roles within the Theatre: Board of directors (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer) Maintains companies budget and finances Selects productions. Selects Artistic Director. Selects Producer. Collectively acts as Executive Producer for each production: approves and if necessary sets budgets all budgets whilst adjudicating any casting and production issues that do not resolved by Board Representative, Producer or artistic Director. Producer: Performance fees Theatre Rent Theatre labour Publicity Programmes Music Costume Set construction supplies and construtction expenses Fundraising events The producer secures rights to the production selected by board of directors and then ensures that all members involved in the production are made aware of those rights. He/she develops and maintains overall production schedules. The producer arranges rehearsal space, audition space and production meetings. The producer may designate Assistant Producers and delegate any portion of these responsibilities as appropriate. He/she secures performance space for production

Artistic Director: Responsible for all artistic decisions related to the production, except those increasing costs beyond budgets. Expected to block all scenes and run blocking rehearsals and general rehearsals. Delegates Most roles. E.g Main chorographer, Musical director, Technical producer, Set designer. Retains responsibility for the overall artistic quality and consistency of the production. Develops draft rehearsal schedule prior to auditions; updated shortly after auditions. The Director sets audition dates, rehearsal dates, etc., in conjunction with Musical Director, Choreographer, and Producer Organizes auditions; responsible for casting decisions subject to approval of Board or participating Board Representative.

Musical Director:

Represents the Artistic Director on all musical matters and decisions for the production including: Running vocal and orchestra rehersals Selecting songs and running the musical portions of auditions Assisting the director with the casting decisions The musical director works with the technical crew on sound, microphones and the balance.

Selects orchestra members or assigns and delegates this responsibility to an orchestra manager. May designate Assistant Musical Directors and delegate any portion of these responsibilities as appropriate.

Choreographer: 1. Represents the Artistic Director on all choreographic matters and decisions for the production including running choreography rehearsals selecting numbers producing all dance/movement numbers running choreography portions of auditions assisting the director with casting decisions.

Technical Director: Surveys performance space for technical production elements/capabilities and serves as a consultant to production staff on technical issues. Works with the set designer on technical construction and the implementation aspects of scenery. Obtains and sets up any technical theatre elements of the production outside of those maintained by the production house. Develops lighting design based on set design and survey of production space lighting capabilities.

Works with production house master electrician to ensure lighting design is implemented correctly. Develops the sound design based on musical and theatrical demands of production and current company sound reinforcement capability.

Set Designer: Designs scenery with input from artistic director. Establishes set construction budget and submits to producer for approval. Creates set construction schedule which shall optimally consist of sessions no more than one day per week for approximately four to six hours at a time.

Produces the scenery.

Costume Designer: Identifies necessary costume requirements for production. Obtains necessary costumes for production. Organizes cast members to help acquire necessary costumes. Repairs existing costumes as necessary. Organizes return of cleaned costumes to general company storage after production.

Marketing Director: Organizes cast members to help acquire pictures and posters for publicity Produces final publicity board and selects decent and attractive pictures for a flyers/ posters
