Profitable and time-saving

Quick-change toolholder system HT11

An ingenious system right down to the smallest detail

Convenient replacement, fast servicing

With the quick-change toolholder system HT11, Wirtgen has engineered a field-proven solution for road milling machines and recyclers, making the operation and servicing of the machines even more convenient, fast, and thus even more profitable. The machine, milling drum, cutting tools and toolholders form a perfectly integrated system designed with much attention to detail. It is extremely durable, which also results in reduced operating costs.

A series of application-related advantages

Wear markers at 5 mm intervals for improved monitoring Upper part covers bottom part completely to minimize deformation of contact surface

Protective plug prevents soiling of bolt head

Optimized shaft angle geometry for greater component strength

Chip breaking web for additional crushing of milled material

Strong retaining bolt prevents unwanted loosening of upper part

Contact surface increased by 75% for improved durability of bottom part

Conical pressure stud for reliable transmission of clamping force

Seal to allow simple and quick insertion/ removal of upper part

The contact surface of the upper part has been increased in size to cover the bottom part completely, thus ensuring an absolutely even and tight fit which minimizes deformation and soiling of the contact surface. A seal prevents dirt particles from entering the gap between upper part and bottom part during the milling operation.

The retaining bolt has been significantly increased in size when compared to the quick-change toolholder system type HT3. A hexagon drive of 17 mm, which reliably transmits the required tightening torque of 500 Nm, is now used in conjunction with an external thread M 30 x 2. The conical pressure stud minimizes any unwanted loosening of the upper part.

Upper part HT11-R for improved tool rotation

Milled recess at the back of the upper part

The milled recess ensures that fine particles of milled material are flushed from the drill hole immediately

Jamming of the cutting tool in the drill hole is largely prevented

Additional cooling of the cutting tools by means of a direct water spray system

Optimized application with the Wirtgen extractor tools

Optimum rotation of the cutting tools is often impaired by material soiling the toolholders drill hole. With the upper part type HT11-R, the fine particles of milled material are flushed from the drill hole via a recess at the back of the upper part. Jamming of the cutting tool in the drill hole is largely prevented.

The Wirtgen machines are fitted with spray bars ensuring that the mixture of water and air is sprayed into the toolholder drill holes even more efficiently. Improved cooling of the cutting tools is thus ensured. Optimized access using the Wirtgen extractor tools ensures additional convenience for the machine operator.

Field-proven components

Upper part HT11 for tool shaft diameter 20 mm

Upper part HT11 for tool shaft diameter 22 mm

Upper part HT11-R for tool shaft diameter 20 mm

Dummy upper part to protect bottom part in case of modified tool arrangement

The protective plug protects the retaining bolt head against dirt

The large, robust retaining bolt HT11 is capable of withstanding tremendous tension forces

The seal prevents fine asphalt particles from entering the gap between upper and bottom part

All components of the quick-change toolholder system HT11 are designed for robust use on the job site, simple handling and reliable servicing. The system combination of wear-resistant components improves the service life of the entire milling drum.

It requires only a small number of components to equip a large variety of different milling drums of the Wirtgen road milling machines and recyclers. The larger retaining bolts reliably transmit the tightening torque of 500 Nm.
