Commenting On Websites

Dear Parents, By now you will have received a link to the class websites. We hope you nd them a great resource that helps you become more involved in the HKA learning environment and your childs learning. As you begin communicating through the blogs wed like you and your child to follow some conventions. These will also be discussed in class with students. Commenting Only use rst names when commenting on a website. You can also add your childs name in brackets to help a teacher recognize you, e.g. Andy (Vincents dad). Students will also be following the rule of rst names only. We dont allow anonymous posts as we believe in modeling creating positive digital identities for our students and taking ownership of our online voice. You do not need to ll in the email or website address box when commenting. All comments will be approved by a class teacher, however this is a good opportunity for you to talk about appropriate use of the internet and develop some family guidelines with regards to computer use at home. Class teachers will be developing commenting guidelines with students and modeling digital citizenship through these websites. Personal Information Personal information such as surnames, telephone numbers and home addresses should not be shared through the websites. This is best done in person or via FirstClass. Class Password You are welcome to share the class password with your family and childs friends to create a more holistic online learning experience. We also welcome comments from them too.
