Constitution Art. I DEDICATION OF THE APOSTLES OF MARY Sec.1. The Apostles of Mary is a Catholic League of young Filipinos.

This League is rooted in a deep spirit of Faith in the Catholic Church and recognizes the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X as the legitimate authority that it has to directly obey in the Church in this time of uncertainty. As a consequence, this League receives the designation of its chaplains from the same Priestly Society. As a lay Catholic League, it obeys the laws of the Catholic Church and its General Chaplain. A perfect obedience is a promise of great benediction. Sec.2. Like the Church, the Apostles of Mary is essentially a missionary League. The members have the profound conviction that all the efficacy of their apostolic action flows from the Most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, which feeds their interior life and their works. They collaborate with the teaching Church, but they have no power, as they dont participate to the teaching power. They are the continuation of the teaching power of the clergy and are like loud speakers of the Church. Sec.3. The consecration of this League to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and to the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary are renewed every year, as on the day of its foundation. The members will always keep a great devotion to St. Joseph who helped so much in the birth of this League. The major patron is Our Lady, the Blessed Virgin Mary. She possesses the whole League as it is consecrated to her Immaculate Heart. And all members do their best to live this consecration. She is the Queen of the Apostles, the Queen of the Holy Rosary and the patroness of the Apostles of Mary under the special title of Our Lady of La Naval. St. Lorenzo Ruiz is the secondary patron of the Apostles of Mary, especially for his apostolic works which brought him to a very high degree of sanctity and finally to the great honor of martyrdom. May his example inspire them. Art. II PURPOSE OF THE APOSTLES OF MARY Sec.1. As a missionary League, the works of the Apostles of Mary are all for the purpose of the conversion of souls to the true Catholic Church, the only means of salvation. a. These works succeed only under the influence of the celebration of the Most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, for God is the only one able to convert the human will. They know that the Liturgy is the greatest duty of the Christian towards God, the source of grace and is essentially apostolic. They love it and do their best to help make it more precious and more solemn. b. Knowing the veritable source of their spiritual life and then of their apostolic efficacy they keep a great devotion for the true and holy Liturgy of the Church found in the Liturgical books before 1963.

Sec.2. To achieve the goal of the League, the members are convinced that their own sanctification is their first and ultimate personal goal. An intense interior life and a serious formation for the apostolate are the first personal requirements. Art. III WORKS OF THE APOSTLES OF MARY Sec.1. The target of their apostolate is the young people, their neighbors. a. The main works of the League are: The blossoming of the spiritual life of its members, the offering of sacrifices and prayers for the success of the apostolate of the Church, the conversion of many souls to Our Lord Jesus Christ through the hands of Our Lady, the propagation of the only true Catholic doctrine, the fight against the enemies of the Catholic Church, the recruit and formation of new members, the extension of the influence of the Apostles of Mary. This apostolate may adopt many different forms but the leaders should have always in mind the perpetuation of the Apostles of Mary. Art. IV MEMBERSHIP TO THE LEAGUE Sec.1. The membership has three levels: a. Aspirant- a person interested to join, under training and probation, not yet enrolled to the League. b. Apostle- a newly enrolled member of the League. c. Guide- an apostle recommended and/or chosen by the General Chaplain after he had proven his capacity as member of the League for a period of time. They read solemnly the Charter of the Apostles of Mary in front of the Most Blessed Sacrament at the end of the Session of Guidance. Sec.2. A male or female, single and aged 17-30 years old is invited to join the Apostles of Mary. a. The aspirant shall attend a session of formation set at a certain date. At the end of the formation, he will receive a certificate duly signed by the General Chaplain. b. The aspirant will have to undergo a period of probation before he is considered a full-fledged member. During this period, he is already expected to attend clan meetings, participate in clan activities, attend the Holy Mass and observe the four foundations of the League.

c. According to the recommendation of the leaders of the League or decision of the General Chaplain, an aspirant may receive the badge of the League right after the formation. Sec.3. The enrollment to the League is done publicly in the presence of the Chaplain. At the end of the formation, the new Apostle will receive the badge of the League, which from that moment should be constantly worn on his left chest. Art. V OBSERVANCE Sec.1. The Apostle has a great respect for his dignity and is thankful to God for this gift of vocation to collaborate closely in the mission of the teaching Church. This temporary vocation is an open door to pray and ask the will of God to show for his future vocation: consecrated life, married life or single blessedness. He has a great consideration for the priesthood and the religious life and is convinced that the consecration of a life to God is the greatest vocation. Sec.2. A great respect towards the other sex and a strict observance of an angelic modesty are necessary conditions to remain an Apostle. The leaders and the Chaplain will never hesitate to expel those who are careless on this point. a. Any kind of bad familiarity is prohibited in the League. To flirt is a sufficient cause of immediate expulsion after a warning. b. When the Apostles of Mary has long activities at the same place: Mass, Rosary, Catechism, conference, meeting, etc. the males sit at the left side, the Gospel side, the females at the right side, the Epistle side. The Apostles of Mary always keeps this good habit in the Church or during Catechisms or conferences given in their Church or at the Mass center. This practice should be well explained to the new friends of the Apostles of Mary. c. Modesty of the eyes, words, movements and behaviors will require naturally the modesty of clothing. This is a must for both sexes. But a kind of prudence is advised in the brotherly correction. You must not follow fashions. People who serve God must not follow fashion. Our Church has no fashion. Our Lord is always the same, said Our Lady of Fatima to Jacinta. The Apostles of Mary must always be and set as a good example of modesty not only in apparel but also in their hearts for the light of the world could never be covered with worldly fashion. Sec.3. When two Apostles are thinking to marry, one of them leaves the regular activities of the clan, preferably the girl. Art. VI ADMINISTRATION Sec.1. The General Chaplain is a priest faithful to the multisecular Tradition of the Catholic Church. He is under the authority of the Society of St. Pius X. When the national chaplains will be more than three, he will be elected by them.

Sec.2. The Chapter is an executive authority, which controls the good administration of the League according to the Constitution and advises the officers of the League. The National Chaplains, the Director, the Assistant Director and three chosen members compose the Chapter. a. The Chapter elects the Director. The Director rules the League. He submits his decisions to the Constitution and to the Chapter and collaborates in caritate with the General Chaplain. b. The Chapter, under the advice of the leaders concerned and the chaplains, appoints the major leaders of the League: Director, Assistant Director, Chiefs of Province, ViceChiefs of Province, Captains and Vice-Captains, and all males. In the same way are appointed the Secretaries who help the ruling of the National Direction, the Provinces and the Clans. But all leaders should always have in mind to find and form their successors. Sec.3. At least once a year, the League gathers its National Council. The Chapter, the Chiefs and the Secretaries of the Provinces compose the National Council. Then the Chapter receives information and advice, transmits its decision and enthusiasm. Sec.4. The Administrative Board is composed of the General Chaplain, the Director, the Assistant Director, the National Secretary and the members appointed to advise the League for all its financial and juridical questions. Sec.5. A Province of the League is a geographical territory where at least two clans are working. The Chief of the Province ensures unity and represents the Province. He controls the observance of the Constitution. A Vice Chief who is usually not from the same clan and a Secretary assist him. According to the future development of the League, the Provincial structure will receive a delegation of powers and a Provincial Board will be created. A Province needs five clans to constitute its board. Then the Chief rules the Province under the same principles above-mentioned for the Director and applied for the Province. Sec.6. A Clan is an organized group of at least 3 members. The Clan is the spiritual barangay of the League. It is composed of the Captain, the Vice Captain and the Secretary. Sec.7. The Apostles of Mary has two advisory boards. They are chosen for their piety, their humility, their experience, their balanced life and their intellectual and practical capacities to treat important matters. a. The Advisory Board of Christ the King composed of seven male members who regularly gather to discuss the special matters and difficulties regarding the male Apostles. b. The Advisory Board of Our Lady of Fatima- the female counterpart. Sec.8. In the event that all positions set by this Constitution cannot be generally occupied for reason of less membership, the League can apply a transitory structure, which the General

Chaplain may deem appropriate. However, when these positions can be fully occupied, the hierarchical structure set by this Constitution must be strictly followed. Art. VII THE FOUR FOUNDATIONS There is nothing new in these four foundations, Our Lord Jesus Christ in His prayer for His disciples, already gave them these necessary foundations: Sanctify them in truth. Thy word is truth. As Thou hast sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for them do I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth. And not for them only do I pray, but for them also who through their word shall believe in Me; that they all may be one; as Thou, Father, in me, and I in Thee, that they also may be one in Us: that the world may believe that Thou has sent Me. And the glory which Thou hast given Me, I have given to them; that they may be one, as We also are one: I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that Thou has sent Me, and hast loved Me, and hast loved them, as Thou hast also loved Me. (St. John 17, 17-23) Sec.1 The four foundations are the soul of the League and regarded as the obligations of the Apostles. a. Interior Life: Sanctify them. The Holy Ghost is working in the soul and is the only One able to move it to God. God may take ways that are not our ways and everybody should respect this so as not to disturb His action in our soul, in the soul of our fellow Apostles, in the souls of our neighbors. A great prudence should be observed in the spiritual matter and for any difficulty, the Apostles have recourse to their chaplain and the spiritual directors for these matters. b. The Study: Sanctify them in truth. Ignorance is our first enemy, St. Pius X said. Ignorance is the best weapon of Satan and all his allies. A Christian who ignores his religion is already open to any kind of cowardice. This is why the Apostle is so particular in increasing his supernatural and natural knowledge reading, studying, attending sessions of formation and conferences. A lack of desire in the study is a major impediment to be a member of the Apostles of Mary. The Apostle is very faithful and serious in the reading of the books required at his own level in the League. He is not required to read merely the books but to understand them or even know by their heart their content. To summarize systematically and accurately these books is a great and highly advisable method. c. Apostolic Action: I also have sent them into the world. Only a profound interior life and a solid study will blossom into a successful and surprising apostolate. This action to be fruitful should be obedient, generous, initiating, zealous and trustworthy. The holy convictions burning in the heart that devour the heart of the Apostle
"I KNOW TO WHOM I CONFIDE MYSELF." 2 TIM 1:12

are the measure of the apostolic achievements. His convictions grow in the daily prayers and the studies and make him the silent instrument of God yet very efficient and powerful. The apostolic targets are chiefly our fellows we meet everyday at school, in the university, at work or simply on the streets. d. Charity: that they all may be oneI in them Charity is the means of unity under one principle: the truth of Our Lord Jesus Christ lived in this Constitution. The relations between the members of the clan are like the relations in the family. This way respects and promotes the great Filipino tradition of relationship. Horizontal relations should the ones of a brother or of a sister. The vertical relations should be the ones between seniors and juniors. In all, a very strong and noble love for the fellow Apostle should prevail. The Apostles should not forget that the unity of the League is in their hands. Every kingdom divided against itself, shall be brought to desolation; and house upon house shall fall, declares Our Lord Jesus Christ in St. Luke: 11,17. When the Apostles of Mary live in the principles of this Constitution in a great spirit of charity, they do the Will of God and are abundantly blessed, their unity strengthens and radiates upon their neighbors. *** *** *** With St. Thomas, the Apostles of Mary valiantly proclaim: Let us go that we may die with Him. (St. John 11:6)

CHARTER OF THE APOSTLE The goal of this charter is to define the objects on which the Apostle engages himself. This charter is a moral engagement but doesnt oblige under the pain of sin. When reading it, the Apostle should keep in mind that he is a member of the AoM only for few years. It is then most advisable to give the maximum of oneself, so that one will gain the maximum of fruits and take good resolutions for his whole life.

1. The spiritual life of the Apostle I, ____________________, am convinced overall of my duty to entertain and develop in me the life of the grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ, soul of the apostolate. In this view, I will always place myself under the vigilant patronage of the holy Mother of God, Mary, and under a strong piety, overall a liturgical and Marian piety. Therefore, my spiritual life will be firstly rooted on the contemplation of the texts of the Missal and on the meditation of the Mysteries of the Rosary. As a consequence, I engage myself to the following: 1.
o o o o o o o

The daily meditation (at least 10 min) The frequent confession (once a month or as soon as a traditional priest visits the Mass center). The daily Rosary (5 decades). The daily reading of the New Testament or of some spiritual book. The daily Morning, Evening prayers with examination of conscience, the Benedicite or Grace before and after every meal. The prayer of the Angelus or Regina Coeli during Easter (three times a day). An effective help in the different liturgical tasks. This means to always seek to serve the Mass, to prepare the altars. Our goal is to offer the most solemn, the worthiest and the most beautiful as possible cult to God. Every boy, to be an Apostle, should know how to serve the Low Mass and the main functions of the Sung Mass. The consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

As possible, I engage myself to the following: 1.

o o o

The assistance at a weekday traditional Mass (extra Mass added to the Sunday Mass). The sanctification of the first Fridays and Saturdays of the month. The spiritual retreat (Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius).

"I KNOW TO WHOM I CONFIDE MYSELF." 2 TIM 1:12

2. The doctrinal formation and fidelity to the Catholic Tradition Weekly, I will spend one hour of my time for reading some doctrinal book. I read to study, I take notes and write reading cards. The aim is not to read a maximum of books but to learn how to think and judge and to comprehend and memorize new knowledge. This study is a grave duty of mine. It is also a necessity for my interior life, my apostolate, and my perseverance after leaving the AoM. I will first of all study the books I have asked to read and then I will never neglect philosophy, neither apologetic, nor Catechism. I want to have a Catholic understanding upon all things: social doctrine, history, arts, science and I will always try to discover our national Catholic and Filipino patrimony. I will be most assiduous to participate in the activities of formation and I will do my best to attend every year a training period. Furthermore, I will continue to study the causes and consequences of todays crisis in the Church. Moreover, I shall deepen my knowledge of the Catholic Tradition and of the modern errors that reject it: Liberalism, Modernism, Freemasonry, Communism, Religious Liberty, Mondialism I promise to defend the Catholic Truth and to exclude from my behavior any compromise with Modernism. I refuse to go to the Paul VIs Mass and to the Indult Mass without a grave reason. I believe that I cant participate actively in these celebrations and then fulfill my Sunday obligation.

3. The daily life As an Apostle, I am first of all a living example. Therefore, I shall be of my good manners. I know that every minute is a gift from God. To organize this time, I have a timetable and I keep it. For this purpose, I shall have a rule of life to be approved by my Spiritual Director. I am careful in giving the necessary time for my studies and for my work, for my family and for the Apostles of Mary. My generosity should privilege the first two duties, without neglecting the third. I shant idolize the schooling or the working success. In particular, I will seek my sanctification through my studies or my work and to be missionary in my family and in my working milieu. I am particular in entertaining and developing the friendship that should fructify among the Apostles of Mary. Nevertheless, I will always avoid any kind of bad familiarity, which works against the true friendship. I fully accept and I engage myself to observe scrupulously the rules of prudence and modesty of the Apostles of Mary regarding the relations with the other sex. I will direct every act of the daily life according to the Christian spirit. I reject without any compromise the worldly spirit and its slaveries: television, cinema, newness and worldliness. I dont possess any television and I use the video only by necessity and by exception. Regarding the social life, knowing that young people should amuse, I admit that dancing (neutral in itself) is nowadays too often exciting, lascivious and obscene in its songs. As an Apostle, I always seek to find the proper ways of Christian amusements. I will never organize such worldly parties and in any kind of function such as weddings, birthdays or important anniversaries. I will do my best to influence the feast in a Christian way. Whenever I am invited
"I KNOW TO WHOM I CONFIDE MYSELF." 2 TIM 1:12

to such worldly parties, I take the resolution to refuse the invitation. Far from being a dull person, my good mood and my Christian joy should radiate. And this is the opposite of the artificial excitement of the world.

4. The apostolic action I concentrate my whole energy to serve Our Lord Jesus Christ, to be His instrument in the conquest and conversion of souls. I should burn of this missionary zeal and confess Our Lord Jesus Christ in all things, always and for all. I am aware of my high duty as a part of the AoM and I know that the Apostles of Mary depends on the life of the Apostles. As a consequence, I will seek to follow or prepare meticulously all the planned activities. I am fully conscious of my responsibility and I cant see there any motive of pride. What do you have that you didnt receive? I will practice especially the holy virtue of humility in obedience and I will regularly give account of my activity to my superiors: Apostle and chaplain. I worry about the progress of my teammates in aiding and guiding them. I understand the momentum of personal contacts. I consider as a priority the formation of the future Apostles and attend to prepare the relief team. The Apostle is a soldier of Our Lord Jesus Christ; then I am in any circumstances an active militant. So I will lead my teammates to denounce the error (at school, with posters), to announce the truth (distribution of The Cross, of pamphlets, recruitment for training periods, pilgrimages and camps). It is for me an honor to ever wear the badge of the AoM. This wearing is a guaranty against human respect, an affirmation of my fight for Our Lord Jesus Christ and increases my love for the Apostles of Mary toward which I am greatly a debtor. The most important is the love for God and for the souls through Charity. This Charter isnt a mere catalogue of obligations but the great means to make the love for God reign in me and around me.

Our Lady, Queen of Apostles, pray for me!
