TODAY Welcome to Cedar Church! This morning, we welcome our new Regional Home Missionary, Glenn Jerrell, who will report on presbytery church planting, while Pastor Steve preaches a message on this vital theme. Glenn will give a brief missions moment before our morning worship service, and then a thorough presentation at the 11 AM hour. In the evening service, Pastor Steve continues his sermon series on Selected Psalms. 11:00 AM Presbytery Church Planting Presentation Glenn Jerrell 5:30 PM Evening Service ANNOUNCEMENTS Sunday School & Midweek Teachers Training Meeting Next Sunday On Sunday morning, August 26th, at 11:15 AM, Cedar will host a fellowship meal for our new Sunday & Wednesday teachers, assistant teachers, ministry leaders and their families. The meal will be followed by a one hour training session to prepare for the coming year. A nursery will be provided and the gym will be supervised for the kids. Please bring a main dish, a side dish and your table settings. Youth Group @ Grandma Kramers Farm Next Sunday On Sunday evening, August 26th at 7 PM, Cedar Youth Group will hold a time of food, fun and planning for next year at the farm of Grandma Carol Kramer (Deb Grysens mom) at 8024 36th Avenue (across from the Hudsonville Football Stadium). All Cedar Church 7th 12th graders should plan to attend! For more info, see Deb Grysen. 20122013 Cedar Womens Ministry This September, we are excited that our Cedar Womens Ministry will relaunch for the new year. Are you interested in using your gifts, skills and passions to serve our church family here at Cedar? If so, please speak with coordinator Carla Baker, as we make plans for our annual September planning meeting.

ANNOUNCEMENTS Homes Needed For Refugee Teens! There is a pressing need for families who are willing to host refugee teens from Africa and Central America, who, because of violence and persecution have been separated from their families and forced to flee their homes. If you are interested in learning more about Bethany Christian Services, Refugee Foster Care Program, call (616) 224-7540, or email refugeefostercare@bethany.org for more information. You can make a difference! At least 30 volunteers are needed to mentor and guide individuals who are learning how to budget. With just a once a week commitment, you could help make a great difference in a familys financial life. If you are someone who enjoys working with numbers and people this is a fulfilling and enjoyable opportunity. Training and support always provided. Evergreen Commons is offering a class at Messiah CRC on Wednesday mornings September 5 through October 10 from 9-11 am. 2012 FALL MINISTRIES AT CEDAR Jr. High & Sr. High Youth Group Cedar Youth Group will meet every 1st and 3rd Sunday in the school gymnasium after evening worship from 7 to 8:30 PM for food, fellowship and fun together. The purpose of this ministry is to disciple youth; strengthen relationships among youth & with adults, and to assimilate young people into the faith and life of Cedar Church. Leaders: Bill & Deb Grysen, Paul & Diana Sprik, Steve & Lynn Igo. Morning Journey Group for Men In a relaxed, come-as-you-are atmosphere, 8 men are invited to make a two (2) semester commitment to a weekly discipleship group involving Bible Study, prayer, camaraderie, open discussion, accountability and crafting personal spiritual growth plans. Pre-registration is required. Leaders: Duane Saxton, Jonathan Mulder, Craig Coleman. Time: Wednesdays @ 10:00 AM. Location: Home of Pastor Steve. Pastor Micks Bible Study Finishing Well to the Glory of God is a Bible Study on the lives of Bible characters who finished well & kept the faith, as well as a few who did not. Time will also be spent praying for OPC Foreign Missions in Uganda & beyond! After signups, this weekday group will choose their best day/time to meet. LOVE, Inc. This fall, Cedar Church will host a Bible Study at Love Inc each week. We meet with Love Inc. clients from 7 to 8 PM at Hillcrest CRC in Hudsonville. The elders would like to encourage members of Cedar to volunteer as Financial Counselors that evening as well. For more information about training, see Pastor Steve. Holland Rescue Mission Cedar Church hosts a monthly worship service every other 1st Thursday at 7 PM at the Mens Shelter. Seminarian Micah Shin will preach, and others can provide special music and testimony. Please see Pastor Steve for more information. Sunday Jail Ministry - Every 5th Sunday, Cedar Church will host a Sunday service at the Kent County Jail from 12:45 PM - 2:15 PM. Several times a year, we will also host a service at the Ottawa County Jail from 1:45 3:00PM. For more information, see David Van Dyke.

If you need any assistance, please ask one of our greeters for help. SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE Cedar Church strives to enjoy God through Spirit-empowered and Christ-centered worship. The Bible is sincerely loved, and we hope that you will find it opened up to you in a fresh and faithful manner each Sunday. A NURSERY is available near the entrance of the gymnasium, but children are always welcome in the worship service. COFFEE BREAK After the morning worship, please join us in the foyer for coffee and refreshments. KIDS BREAK After morning worship, all kids (pre-school thru 6th grade) are invited to remain in the gymnasium for snacks and fun songs with Mr. & Mrs. Himebook. SUNDAY SCHOOL - From 11 AM-12 PM, Cedar Church offers classes for all ages. Visitors are especially welcome to join us!
