BILINGUAL HIGH SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS LESSON PLAN LEVEL 9TH SCIENCE AND SOCIALS UNIT # 2 UNIT AIMS: - Learn about the Inca Civilization and understand that it is the base for our culture - Understand the way of living of the Incas, where were they located, what were their beliefs - Develop a critic opinion about the creation and the end of this civilization - Manage to interpret religious beliefs of the Incas and their traditions - Compare how is life in these days different from the days when the Incas lived in our territory Number of Lessons in this unit: 3 Number of weekly lessons: 1 Date: From April 9 to 13 Lesson Aims: - Students will be able to understand the emerge of the Inca Empire - It will be possible for students to make a timeline with the most important events during the Inca Civilization Activities and Resources: - Read the book and complete the exercises, then make a summary, look for vocabulary, make drawings of the main ideas. - Write a summary of the main events in the notebook and draw Assessment: - Unit activities Learning Outcomes: - Students will feel identified with the indigenous part of our history and will be able to determine what happened before, during and after the Inca Civilization that has a repercussion in our culture.

Activities and Resources: - Students will name all the indigenous nationalities there are in Ecuador and Peru and read about their traditions and they will compare each one with the Inca Civilization. Assesment: - Unit activities - Images in Notebook Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to distinguish the different traditions we have in our country depending of the community and will be able to recognize which traditions are a heritage from Incas and which are more Spanish
