Some of the recent events... Reckos bar closed. Farewell my drinking friends...time to move toward other endeavors. Congratulations St. Petersburg on getting domestic partnership registry on Aug. 1st. Related to that, I read that Amazon gave $2.5 million in support of gay marriage. Kudos Amazon. Did you know that Sawmill has beautiful trailer homes for as little as $31,000. Check it out one of these weekends while there is still some summer left. Also an abundance of little kitties which are ready to be relocated. Take one home today! Youll find some of their pictures in this newsletter. There has been a host of babies in our community. All of them are girls, which makes me happy cause that means the species will continue. There have been deaths too. A place we all go eventually. Do what u can while u can.. Make your dreams a reality...the Universe is on your side. ;-) Now is the only time that u can do anything about.... In this moment, which is a gift of the present... make the most of NOW.

Larry Rathbun

| Marijuana Policy Project

Rancher and Vietnam veteran Larry Rathbun was arrested in 1999 for cultivating medical marijuana to relieve his degenerative multiple sclerosis. When he was arrested, he was still able to walk, which he attributes to the medical use of marijuana. In 2002, after serving 19 months, Larry came out of Montana State Prison confined to a wheelchair. Since Larrys release, Montana voters passed a medical marijuana initiative protecting people like him..

Think Globally...Act Locally -Plant a seed...grow some weed. -Vote Not Guilty on all nonviolent marijuana charges. -Sign the Petition and Send it in. -Talk to people...all of them...all the time. Education is Key.

Karen Slaugenhaupt: Owner of
Hideaway; the oldest lesbian bar in the country! It has been in the same location for 43 years, St. Petersburg, Florida

Ms. Slaugenhaupt began as a bartender at the Hideaway in 1999. When the owner at the time; Chris Ball, was ready to sell in 2007, Slaugenhaupt bought it. It has remained a neighborhood bar where there are mostly lesbians, but...everyone is welcome. This info is from Watermark, August 2-15 2012.
