EVOKE Student Assistant Job Description Title: EVOKE Student Assistant Supervisor: EVOKE Graduate Assistant and EVOKE

Program Coordinator Hours: 10-15 hours/week, flexible schedule Compensation: Starting rate $8.25/hour with opportunity for increase based on work experience with office Positions Available: 1 General Description: The EVOKE Student Assistant will report to the EVOKE Graduate Assistant and Program Coordinator. The position is collaborative in that the EVOKE Team works in tandem to develop programs and opportunities for undergraduate students to explore their callings and their passions. Duties of the EVOKE Student Assistant include creating and promoting EVOKE programs and contributing to the implementation of said programs, while communicating and collaborating with the larger Loyola community. Minimum Skills and Qualifications: Current Loyola Undergraduate Student Attention to detail Ability to communicate with variety of stakeholders, including University leadership, faculty, staff, students, and alumni Flexibility to work some weekends and evenings Sophomore year status or above Work study strongly preferred Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher

EVOKE Student Worker Employment Philosophy Assisting students in discerning their own calling is the focus of EVOKEs work. We believe that our student assistants are integral parts of this task and we seek to develop discernment skills within the student assistants that can be passed on to other students and used throughout their lives. Our student assistants serve as the backbone of our department, assisting with program planning on communication across a wide arc of the community. Work Location:

90% in the Center for Student Formation (CFSU LL 42); 10% assisting with various programs across both campuses; there is also a minimal amount of work in the community. Learning & Skill Outcomes, Objectives and Duties: 1. Student Assistants will develop competence in leading the development and implementation of programs a. Objective #1 is to develop the ability to plan programs involving many campus partners i. Duties for the EVOKE Ramble and Scramble are: 1. Create clues for the Scavenger Hunt component 2. Correspond with faculty and staff to coordinate Treasures 3. Develop emails and other marketing tools to promote the events ii. Duties for other EVOKE programs are: 1. Meet weekly with EVOKE Coordinator and Graduate Assistant to discuss new and current programmatic initiatives. 2. Correspond with various campus partners and presenters 3. Reserve rooms 4. Assist with food ordering b. Objective #2 is to develop marketing acumen i. Draft emails to send to the EVOKE listserv to promote programs

ii. Create pamphlets and posters for programs iii. Create posters for programs to be hung in CFSU iv. Table for various events v. Maintain and update website and social media presence vi. Hang posters around campus at designated program promotion areas c. Objective #3 is to foster a sense of event implementation i. Duties for the Ramble and Scramble are: 1. Tallying points 2. Corresponding with participants (responding to questions, concerns, and inquiries)

3. Filter and sort photographs taken during the Ramble ii. Duties for general programs include: 1. Maintaining RSVP lists 2. Printing nametags 3. Working with other staff on day of event to ensure successful event 2. Student Assistants will develop an awareness of their own vocational journey a. Objective #1 is to build a basic understanding of vocational discernment i. Attending staff training in the Fall to ground themselves in vocational discernment

b. Objective #2 is to foster Ignatian reflection techniques i. Through attending the weekly staff meetings, students will be given the opportunity to reflect on their own vocation and discernment
