The Dog Ate My Homework. A paper Animation Kit for you to cut out and make. This pack has all the parts you need to make this delightful model and a full set of easy to follow illustrated instructions. Just add some basic tools and a pot of PVA white school glue. Once complete, turn the handle on the side of the box and the dog shakes the homework book back and forth. The Dog Ate my Homework is the perfect excuse for handing in your homework late and this model is the perfect proof!
You will need a craft knife or other sharp knife, a pair of scissors, some glue and a glue spreader. The best type of glue to use is white school glue (PVA.) Print out the parts sheets onto thin cardboard. Photocopier card is ideal. Notice that the parts pages are marked front and back. Print out a front page, flip it over, then print the back onto the same sheet. Leave the ink to dry completely before continuing. Before cutting anything out, score along all the dotted lines and cut out any holes with a craft knife. Both these jobs are easier to do on full sheets of card. Dashed lines are hill folds, dotted lines are valley folds. Cut along the solid lines. Grey areas show where to glue

Fold the flaps on the bottom of the Box Sides round and glue them into place to make triangular tube sections. (1)
Fold round and glue together the Cam Shaft. (3) Glue the four Cam Fingers to the Cam Shaft (4-5) note that there are two left hand and two right hand finders. Use the grey areas on the Cam Shaft to help glue the correct one to the correct place.
Fold round and glue together the Neck Axle. (6) Glue the Striker Plate into place on the Neck Axle. (7) Line up the points of the four black arrows with the edge of the Axle. Tuck the flaps inside and glue them to the side of the Axle. (8)
Glue the Head Inner into the Head. Use the small dots on the Head to align the Head Inner. (9) Flip the Head over and glue the Eyes and Nose into place. (10-11)
Glue together the parts of the book with a thin strip of glue in the spine. (Not numbered) Curl the pages and separate them so that the book looks a little tatty. Glue the book cover to the Head Inner. (12) Fold the Head Sides in half and glue them to the inside of the cheeks. (13)
Glue the Box Sides to the Box top. (14) Glue the Box Front and Box Back to the Box Top. (15-16) Glue the Box ends and sides together. (17) Fold the inner flaps round and glue them to the inside of the box to make a triangular tube section. (18) Glue the Axle Support into place in the box. (19-20) Fold down and glue into place the flaps on the box bottom. (21-22)
Flip the box over. If you are using the rug glue it into place now (Premium version only). Make sure that the holes in the rug and the box top are aligned and that the rug is straight on the box top.

Carefully thread the Cam Shaft into the box. Note that the grey area marked 29 goes to the right when looking at the from of the box. Carefully thread the Neck Axle into the box, Light brown area upwards. Note that the Striker Plate tapers away from the from of the box. Glue the two small washers into place. (23-24) Glue the larger washers into place. (25)

13

15
16
Gently curve the Front Legs along their length. Glue them into place on the top of the box. (32-33) Glue the body to the Box Top (34) Chop sticks might be useful this job - or really thin fingers.
