The complete idiots guide to songwriting I read the book whose writer is Joel Jirchhorn.

This is a book that teaches us how to get in to the world of music, since the amateur steps to a great composer plays. Actually I was riding this guide since the last month and Im glad that the homework of Review reminds me how cool these tips are. I want to emphasize that this book isnt a save yourself book. This guide is for people who likes all kind of music, but rock at the most. In the foreword Joel Hirschhorn tell the ways that the people on the music industry use to enjoy to send him to hell, when he -a teenager, by the way- has a demo, Someone says this in rubbish, and need to much hooks- and he never stops to believe on his music, in spite his mother was worried for his future. He mentions all the people who trust and who dont trust hes wish and he dedicate this book to their. The first part of this book its an instructive for using the chapters and the extra information and appendixes for how to get in to the industry, and acknowledgments. In a progressive way Joel invites you to no delay your dreams or no to stop your dream. He tell the people who rids very important things, like, they must keep working for living although their mind keeps going in to the music: you can make a song while you are working, you should use all the influences that get in to your mind and soul. Hirchhorns tips are very useful: join to an orchestra, get your music exposed, get achievement of musical skills, to record all your ideas and get ready to write all that you can. In the second chapter the writer show in easy paragraphs the line of evolution of popular music exponents, genres, and little passages of their career-which is: Ragtime, Irving Berlin music (hes not from my family, but I have an uncle named as same), music for the World War II, Rock & Roll, Sinatra, Bob Dylan, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The 80s, The Rap and the age of MTV. I Know, too much information In the next chapter Joel allows you to search for some ideas like: hunting for a character in the street, keep your eyes on the ideas, dont be afraid of your emotions for the music. He gives the secrets about the hits of different ages, the theme: like Love, travelers, breaking up, give apologies, almost 36 ideas for a good songwriting includes the heartache-. In the chapter four Joel H. says that the people is always confused because they dont know what is first, THE WORDS OR THE MUSIC? Is funny, like a composer use to have that problem too, but once I say its like the problem of the chicken and the egg, he says that you need to be an open mind guy, get relaxed, and let the both flow. The chapter five says: if you dont know how to use an instrument, you need a musician; how to react as a composer, with music troubles; as a lyricist too; and learn about the positive disaster that song can be. This chapter has a direct link with the next because talks about how to choose the musician who were working with you, the time you need, the necessitys youll have, the diplomatic way to say your song is stupid, the ego problem and some other. The last chapter I reed was 22 pages, large, since 88 to 100 (PDF version), which talks about Title power, the words that are important to hook the people, the words that easy

get stock in your mind, the words that describes the message in music, the colors in words which comes to imagination, and make the people dance, or cry, or keep listening. If I would change something from these book, Ill change the title because is really offensive for the people. I was close for not reading it by its name, but Im happy at the end. Im going to finish it.
