MARITIME CLUSTER FUND COURSE FEE SUBSIDY(CFS) FOR CERTIFIABLE COURSES

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND PROCEDURES FOR CLAIM


A. Eligibility Criteria
1. Participants must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents; 2. Participants must be employees sponsored by maritime-related business/organisations registered or incorporated in Singapore; 3. Participants must attain at least 75% attendance at the course; and 4. Business entities applying for MCF CFS for this course must not be receiving any other forms of financial training assistance [e.g. Skills Development Fund (SDF) or Skills Redevelopment Programme (SRP) etc] administered by other government bodies e.g. WDA or NTUC etc.

B. Procedures for Claim


1. The MCF CFS will be disbursed to sponsoring organisations upon completion of the course. 2. Percentage Eligibility for MCF CFS are as follows : 30% MCF CFS Participants who meet the eligibility requirements for CFS but did not successfully complete the course (not awarded with the diploma scroll) will be eligible for 30% MCF CFS. 60% MCF CFS Participants who meet the eligibility requirements for CFS and have successfully completed the course and awarded with the diploma scroll will be eligible for 60% MCF CFS 3. Sponsored organisations are required to submit MCF CFS Application Form upon successful admission of the sponsored employee to attend the course to seek in-principle approval for MCF CFS. 4. Upon employees completion of the course, sponsored organisations are required to submit MCF CFS Claim Form and enclosed copies of the supporting documents1 as follows : a. Copy of Invoices from the polytechnic for payment of the tuition fee b. Copy of all receipts issued by the polytechnic to show proof of payment c. Copy of evidence of successful completion of course e.g. examination results, polytechnic scroll 5. MCF CFS Application Form and Claim Form must be submitted to : IMC Capability Development Department Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore 460 Alexandra Road #17-00 PSA Building, Singapore 119963 Fax : 63751900 6. MCF CFS Claim Form must be submitted within 6 weeks after receipt of documentary evidence showing successful completion of the course e.g. full examination results slip or advanced/specialist diploma scroll from the Polytechnic. MPA will obtain verification from the Polytechnic on the percentage attendance attained by the sponsored participant prior to disbursement of CFS.

Sponsored organisations who are submitting MCF CFS Claim form in respect to their employees attendance at the Diploma in Shipping Operations and Management (DSOM) course are not required to submit document (c ).
