Associated Student Government Judiciary Application 2012-2013


The ASG Judiciary is open to all University of Arkansas students. Justices are selected to serve up to three academic years. ASG Justices will be responsible for administering all ASG Elections (Senate & Executive). Any questions should be referred to Tori Pohlner, ASG President, at asgpres@uark.edu or ASG Advisor, Rudy Trejo, at rgtrejo@uark.edu. Application must be returned to ARKU A665 by Tuesday, September 11, 2012 by Noon. No exceptions will be made for late applications or missed interviews.

Interviews will be conducted the evening of Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Please circle all start times that you are available. If none of these times work for you, please indicate a time Wednesday evening that would work. By signing this document I acknowledge and agree to the following (please note dates and commitments to attend the following): 1. I hereby give my consent to the Office of Student Activities and the Office of Academic Integrity and Student Conduct to examine my academic and disciplinary records for the purpose of verifying that I meet the requirements for participation in co-curricular activities. 2. I understand that if selected as an ASG Justice I will be responsible for all duties assigned to my position. 3. I understand that I may be interviewed by the ASG President or designee and if forwarded by the ASG President I will have an interview with the Judiciary Committee of the Senate at some point during the week of September 24th or on October 1st. I will receive further details once dates and times have been identified. 4. I understand that if approved and forwarded by the judicial committee, I must attend the ASG Senate meeting in the Graduate Education Building on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, in order to be considered and approved by the ASG Senate. I will receive advanced notification of the date and time in order to make arrangements. 5. I understand that if appointed and sworn in I will be responsible for attending a mandatory training session. 6. I understand that as an ASG Justice I will be responsible for attending Judiciary meetings and meeting regularly with the Chief Justice. 7. I understand that as an ASG Justice I am and must remain an active member of ASG until my term is over or otherwise noted. 8. I understand that as an ASG Justice it is imperative that keep an objective opinion in order to perform my duties to the best of my abilities. 9. I understand that as an appointed member of ASG I am held to a higher standard and I will abide by the ASG Standard of Ethics (Outlined in the ASG Constitution, Article VII).
