NOTE: All members are required to abide by the Club's membership rules and regulations as incorporated in the constitution effective June 2000. The rules and regulations pertaining to membership are printed on the reverse of this application form.
Membership 2.1 2.2 2.3 2.4 Acceptance of applications for and continued membership of the VELO CLUB DEAL will be at the discretion of the committee. All members are expected to act and behave in a manner that promotes the good name of the club in cycling circles and within the public at large. The committee aims to generate greater and regular participation from individual club members, as hitherto, too few people have been willing to take on responsibility. Active members are advised to take out personal insurance from the British Cycling or the Cyclists Touring Club where appropriate.
3.0
Subscriptions 3.1 Annual subscriptions fall due on January 1st at the rates and discounts determined by the most recent Annual General Meeting and stated on the Membership Application Form. Any existing member failing to pay his/her subscription by March 1 st will no longer be regarded as a member of the VELO CLUB DEAL. It is not the responsibility of the club to pursue the payment of subscriptions.
4.0
Safety 4.1 Club members will at all times be aware of and comply with the requirements of the Highway Code, whether racing or otherwise. Safety is a major consideration. Club members must avoid creating situations that are unsafe for other road users. The wearing of approved ANSI/SNELL helmets is strongly recommended.
5.0
Marshalling at club event 5.1 Each member will be required when requested to make himself, his nominee or representative, available on at least one occasion each calendar year to assist in the marshalling of a club promoted event.
6.0
Club assistance to members 6.1 Assistance, financial or otherwise, for members regularly participating in national or international events, and for members performing duties on behalf of the club, may be provided where practicable and where justified, subject to a formal request to the committee.
