1. SPLENDID Button: Use this hotkey to switch from five video preset modes (Game Mode, Night View Mode, Scenery Mode, Standard Mode, and Theater Mode) with SPLENDID Video Enhancement Technology. Exit the OSD menu or go back to the previous menu as the OSD menu is active. Automatically adjust the image to its optimized position, clock, and phase by pressing this button for 2-4 seconds. 2. Button: Press this button to decrease the value of the function selected or move to the previous function. This is also a hotkey for Volume adjustment. 3. MENU Button: Press this button to enter/select the icon (function) highlighted while the OSD is activated.

4. Button: Press this button to increase the value of the function selected or move to the next function. This is also a hotkey for Brightness adjustment. 5. Power button

Rear connectors (form let to right) 1. 2. 3. 4. PWR port. This port connects the power connector from the bundled power cord. DVI port. This 24-pin port is for PC (Personal Computer) DVI-D digital signal connection. (Only for some models) VGA port. This 15-pin port is for PC VGA connection. Audio-in port. Modes not listed in the table may not be supported. For optimal resolution, we recommend that you choose a mode listed in the table above.

V. Disassembly & Assembly


1. Precaution
Please read the precautions as follows to prevent any damages to the LCD Monitor and also select the appropriate tools for disassembly and re-assembly. Make sure all power connection is removed. Be sure that the LCD Monitor is in power off status. Prepare soft cloth and sponge as working platform to place LCD monitor horizontally. Hold LCD by the side carefully and DONT touch or press panel directly.

Remove all rings, watches and any other metal objects from your hands which possible to cause scratch.

Always wear a ground strap or anti-static glove to protect the parts from static discharge. ESD (electro-static discharge) protection is required to guarantee the safety of product and personnel.

2. Suggest Tools
Here are some tools that can be used for the LCD monitors service and repair. Philips-head Screwdriver Use a Philips-head screwdriver to fasten/remove the K- or B-typed screws

P/NN/A Gloves To protect LCD Panel and your hand

P/N: (L) 16-003300131 (M) 16-003300130 C/D Disassembly Tool Use C/D Disassembly Tool to open cosmetic cover and avoid scratch.

P/N: 13GV0400PZZZZ Spacer Screwdriver Use a spacer screwdriver to fasten/remove spacer screws or hex screws.

3. Disassembly Procedure
Information in this section is to perform the disassembly procedure of the LCD monitor. Depending on the failures, replace the defective parts accordingly. Asus VW192 Series LCD Monitor consists of various subsystems. This section describes the procedures for LCD monitor disassembly. In addition, the detailed disassembly procedures of individual subsystem will be provided for your service needs. The disassembly procedure consists of the following steps: 3.1 Stand Subsystem 3.2 Board subsystem 3.3 Panel subsystem

3.1 Stand Subsystem 1. Turn the screw counterclockwise to remove it.

2. Unlock the clips to dismount BASE.

3.2 Board Subsystem Back Cover 1. Release 2 screws on the HINGE COVER.

2. Push up to dismount HINGE COVER.

3. Remove 4 screws on the BACK COVER.

4. Hold the STAND to lift and remove BACK COVER.

Cables 1. Remove 5 Pieces of TAPE.

2. Release 2 screws on KEY BOARD

3. Unplug KEY BOARD CABLE.

4. Take away KEY BOARD and KEY BOARD CABLE.

5. Disconnect SPEAKER CABLE.

6. Unplug LAMP CABLES.

Speaker Module 1. Open 2 Pieces of TAPE on SPEAKER CABLE.

2. Release 4 screws on SPEAKERS.

3. Take away the SPEAKER MODULE.

Main Shielding 1. Release 4 screws on MAIN SHIELDING.

2. Pull down MAIN SHIELDING slightly, but do not remove it.

3. Open the left and right latches of LVDS CABLE to unplug it, and then take away the MAIN SHIELDIND.

Main Board and Power Board 1. Remove POWER BOARD MYLAR.

2. Release 2 screws on D-SUB PORT and DVI PORT (For VW192T only).

3. Release 4 screws on POWER BOARD and 2 screws on MAIN BOARD

4. Take out POWER BOARD and MAIN BOARD.

5. Separate POWER BOARD and MAIN BOARD.

6. Pull out LVDS CABLE carefully.

3.3 Panel Subsystem 1. Remove 6 screws on LCD PANEL.

2. Lift the LCD PANEL and separate from BEZEL carefully.

3. Remove 4 screws on both sides.

4. Assemble Procedure
Information in this section is to perform the assembly procedure of the LCD monitor. Asus VW192 Series LCD monitor consists of various subsystems. This section describes the procedures for LCD monitor assembly. In addition, the detailed assembly procedures of individual modules will be provided for your service needs. The assembly procedure consists of the following steps: 4.1 Panel Subsystem 4.2 Board subsystem 4.3 Stand subsystem

4.1 Panel Subsystem 1. Following the steps, take out LAMP CABLE form the hole of LCD left BRACKET, and then assemble left BRACKET and LCD PANEL.

2. Assemble right BRACKET and LCD panel.

3. Tighten 4 screws on both sides.

4. Locate LCD in BEZEL and press down to fix it.

5. Secure 6 screws on LCD PANEL..

4.2 Board Subsystem Main Board and Power Board 1. Insert LVDS CABLE.

2. Assemble POWER BOARD and MAIN BOARD.

3. Place POWER BOARD and MAIN BOARD on MAIN SHIELDING.

4. Tighten 4 screws on POWER BOARD and 2 Screws on MAIN BOARD.

5. Use spacer screwdriver to secure 4 screws on D-SUB PORT and DVI PORT(For VW192T only).

6. Paste POWER BOARD MYLAR

Main Shielding 1. Insert LVDS CABLE.

2. Cover MAIN SHIELDING over LCD PANEL.

3. Tighten 4 screws on MAIN SHIELDING.

Speaker Module 1. Mount SPEAKER MODULE.

2. Secure 4 screws on SPEAKERS

3. Paste 2 pieces of TAPE.

Cables 1. Plug LAMP CABLES.

2. Connect SPEAKER CABLE.

3. Place KEY BOARD and KEY BOARD CABLE over LCD.

4. Connect KEY BOARD CABLE with MAIN BOARD.

5. Secure 2 screws on KEY BOARD.

6. Paste 5 pieces of TAPES.

Back Cover 1. Assemble BACK COVER, and press down along sides to lock latches.

2. Tighten 4 screws.

3. Assemble HINGE COVER.

4. Tighten 2 screws on HINGE COVER.

4.3 Stand Subsystem 1. Mount BASE under STAND.

2. Turn the screw clockwise to tighten it.
