Changing the 4-Pin Footswitch Plug (Part #51604-001)

Before starting, detach the old Footswitch Plug from the Footswitch Cable. 1. Thread the Base Cap onto the Footswitch Cable. 2. Thread the Strain Relief onto the Footswitch Cable. 3. Thread the Grommett onto the Footswitch Cable. 4. Thread the Rubber Gasket onto the Footswitch Cable, allowing it to fall inside the Grommett. 5. Thread the Retaining Clip onto the Footswitch Cable. 6. Connect the black, brown, blue/gray, and green/yellow wires to the Connector End pins 1, 2, 3, and ground, respectively. 7. Clasp the Retaining Clip onto the Connector End and adequately tighten the screws to secure the Retaining Clip to the Footswitch Cable. 8. Screw the Grommett onto the Connector End. 9. Snap the Strain Relief onto the base of the Grommett. 10. Screw the Base cap onto the Grommett while simultaneously observing the Strain Relief as it squeezes the Footswitch Cable. Adequately tighten the Base Cap.

Upon completion, test the Footswitch to ensure proper functionality.

Testing the Footswitch Cable/Connector

1. Connect the Footswitch Cable to an ICC unit. Ensure the Cable is adequately secured to the unit by turning the Connector End clockwise. 2. Turn on the ICC unit. 3. Press any key on the ICC unit. (This will stop the flashing of the settings.) 4. Connect an Ignition Tester or Grounding Pad or NESSY Testing Cables to the Neutral Receptacle. Confirm the NESSY LED illuminates green. (If a dual-surface Grounding Pad is used, fold the pad onto itself to ensure the NESSY LED illuminates green.) 5. Set the cut settings to the following: effect 1, 10 watts, endocut off. 6. Set the coag settings to the following: soft, 10 watts. 7. Depress the yellow/cut pedal. Confirm the yellow LEDs on the cut side of the ICC illuminate and an audible sound is detected. 8. Depress the blue/coag pedal. Confirm the blue LEDs on the coag side of the ICC illuminate and an audible sound is detected. 9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 multiple times to ensure the Footswitch is operating properly.
