LEADERSHIP PLAN GOAL: COMPLETE A LEADERSHIP (AS SELF-ACTUALIZATION) PORTFOLIO LONG TERM / 10 YEARS SHORT TERM / 5 YEARS IMMEDIATE / 6 MOS 1 YEAR
Timelined: Sub-Goals: Computer File:
Goal Statement: Invoking the term leadership to mean a capacity to learn from others and from the [surrounding] environment[and] where that capacity calls for an ability to listen and be guided by others;1 I seek to become a self-actualization leader or, lead by being led2 for purposes of serving the ethic of responsibility.3 Where am I now? Following successful completion of a Master of Policy Studies from the University of Washington Bothell, I am planning an exit from Coach toward a more career-oriented position. Though the prospects of involvement in affordable housing are promising, the issue of attending law school remains a concern. Bottom line: beggars cant be choosers I need a job and quickly. What is my action plan? (what resources?, who do I need to contact?, what family can help?) (See resources list) Specific targets will be completing the Summer Reading bibliography I drafted; to reconnect with targeted resources []; and to begin planning use of sources such as LinkedIn and Husky Jobs for isolating potential next steps. What do I need to do reach this goal? Organization and Motivation (my 3Ps): Fear is not an option at this point. Ive come very far and it would be (almost) for nothing if I dont make the additional push for the rest of the plans Ive made for myself. This portfolio is that last needed push to focus my efforts and finish strong.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
Explicit Advances (meeting meaningful checkpoints) Setting and Keeping Set Routines. Confidence
Sub-Goals (Completed )____________________________! Included inTimeline 1 | Complete the Leadership Portfolio (as required by 505)! 2 | Complete Resource List ! 3 | Complete Manifesto! 4 | Complete a revamp / edited Resume ! Tasks (Completed )_______________________________ ! Included in Timeline Decided my final Date / Time to submit final (1)!- Make 3 copies of the Leadership Portfolio project detail!- Review Burns > notes from class and book!- Review Heifitx > notes from class and book!- Make full copies of powepoint slides for reference!- Plan a full review session (for all notes)!
What price am I willing to pay for this goal? Ive long believed something to the effect of just wait, my times going to come. To ensure that I dont miss the opportunity when it knocks, I have to make sure that mostly everything that I can conceivably prepare for, is reasonably in preparation or planned. The price: treat this manifesto as if it was perpetually due (2)
Edits/Notes: (1) This is important since I have to structure my time around the time Id like to submit taking into account other things such as work, final class meetings, and final days of an internship (2) the real effort (invoking the college try adage) Ive applied to course assignment submissions all but evaporates when it is personal issues or responsibilities to attend to. My price is keeping that level of fervoras if Im turning in something others for review in my personal issues.
OBSTACLES what can stand in my way 1. Procrastination and/or ambivalence towards progressing 2. Getting down on myself 3. Overly confident in my ability
SOLUTIONS how to overcome 1. Keep up motivation by reflecting: on progress, on total history, and on things to come. 2. Find self-cues that serve to indicate when Im getting bogged down; stop, and re-orient. 3. Seek out friends and family who can keep me centered and realistic in my possibilities.

We apologize for the delay in respondrngto your inquries. Over the last sevetalmonths the Washington State legisiature was considenng HB 151.7,a bill that would make restoration of votrng rights automatic upon completion of incarceration and any supervision by the State Department of Corrections (DOC). I am happy to report that the legislaturepassedthe bill, and on N'Iay4, 2009, Governor Christine Gregoire srgned HB 1517. Tlrrs iarv takes effect on July 26, 2009. The casedocuments you folwarded us rncluded a 5990 Closure, conftming that you ate rro longer under DOC supervision. Assumrng you have no other felony convictions, you should be eligible to register to \rote once HB 151,7 takes effect onJuly 26. Prior to the passageof HB 1517,votrng rights were testored by the entry of aCerttficate of Discharge (COD). You should be aware that automatic voting rights testoration under HB 1,51,7 does not lead to the automatic enuy of a COD. If you want to petiuon for a COD, you may wish to cail the I{rng Coun\Bar Association Lawyer Referral tlre Sewice at206.267.7010.For a modest fee (up to $-35.00), sen'ice provides a refenal to an attorney trr your area rvho speciatzes in this arca of practrce. This fee rncludes the fi.rst half-hour of the attorney's time, after wbrch the attotney may charge hi.sor het regular fees. I hope you find this rnformatron helpful, and wish you the best in your efforts. Sincerelr'.
