legal'reality'of'the'car'accident'set'in.'The'accident,'in'short,'was'my'fault.'As'result,'I' was'charged'with'a'Felony.'This'charge'has'inspired'all'actions'since,'superseded' only'by'the'impetus'of'my'idea'of'success.'In'tandem'with'my'goal'process,'these' inspirations'delivered'on'the'restoration'of'my'rightsstripped'when'receiving' Felon'status'in'this'societythrough'concerted'effort'manifested'as'perseverance' and'planning.'' labeled,'Restore'the'Right'to'Vote'was'incessantly'in'my'goal'binder.'The'right'to' vote'is'not'granted'to'convicted'Felons,'so'I'waited.'As'years'passed,'I'worked'on' other'goals'and'the'Restore'goal'quietly'remained'untouched.'Though,' occasionally,'I'would'attach'various'printouts'and'materials'(Appendices'I'&'J)'that'I' collected'since'the'legal'fallout:'brochures'and'flyers'on'Washington'state'legislation' and'procedures;'American'Civil'Liberties'Union'of'Washington'state'(ACLU)' materials'on'Voter'Restoration,'etc.;'I'never'actually'activated'the'goal.' Following successful completion of a Master of Policy Studies from the University of Washington Bothell, I am planning an exit from Coach toward a more career-oriented position. Though the prospects of involvement in affordable housing are promising, the issue of attending law school remains a concern. Bottom line: beggars cant be choosers I need a job and quickly. Over the last sevetalmonths the Washington State legisiature was considenng HB 151.7,a bill that would make restoration of votrng rights automatic upon completion of incarceration and any supervision by the State Department of Corrections (DOC). I am happy to report that the legislaturepassedthe bill, and on N'Iay4, 2009, Governor Christine Gregoire srgned HB 1517. Tlrrs iarv takes effect on July 26, 2009. Assumrng you have no other felony convictions, you should be eligible to register to \rote once HB 151,7 takes effect onJuly 26. Prior to the passageof HB 1517,votrng rights were testored by the entry of aCerttficate of Discharge (COD). You should be aware that automatic voting rights testoration under HB 1,51,7 does not lead to the automatic enuy of a COD.
