Jilin Province and Heilongjiang Province are the mainly
agricultural provinces in China, which are located at the
coldly area (higher than north latitude 43). At present along
with the solar greenhouse expand rapidly, the region Irom
abroad and to design a large greenhouse. This area has
introduced Irom the overseas and independently designed
the massive sunlight greenhouse. AIter the investigation and
study, because oI the severe cold weather conditions in
winter, in the actual operation, there are many problems,
such as high energy consumption, high Iailure rate when
automatically operation, high maintenance costs. So that
greenhouse production mainly relies on human manual
management by experience |1-3|. Which is the chieI
obstacle limits the greenhouse crops high production, high
quality, the highly eIIective production. This article
constructs a superior machine supervisory system based on
the LabVIEW soItware platIorm, combined with wireless
sensor based on ZigBee technology to achieve the
greenhouse environment inIormation acquisition, display,
storage. By OPC SEVER oI NI DSC module, easy to
implement read-write on the PLC. So implement real-time
monitoring oI Iield devices and remote monitoring through

Wireless sensor networks use NI WSN-3202. The
programmable NI WSN-3202 measurement node is a
wireless device that provides Iour +10 V analog input
channels and Iour bidirectional digital channels. The 18-
position screw-terminal connector delivers direct
connectivity to sensors, and the device oIIers a 12 V, 20mA
sensor power output that you can use to drive sensors
requiring external power. You can power the measurement
node with Iour 1.5 V, AA alkaline battery cells, with
operation up to three years on battery power, or you can
externally power the node with a 9 to 30 V supply (not
included). A 2.4 GHz radio is used to wirelessly transmit
data to the WSN gateway, where you can connect through
Ethernet to other network devices. You can conIigure the
WSN-3202 as a mesh router to increase network distance
and connect more nodes in your WSN system. You can
connect eight end nodes (star topology) or up to 36
measurement nodes (mesh topology) to a single WSN
gateway, with outdoor range up to 300 m with line oI sight

The soItware design includes PC soItware design, and
slave ladder programming, this paper introduces the host
computer soItware design. PC monitoring interIace use NI
LabVIEW soItware programming. In order to Iacilitate the
operator to grasp the site conditions, design a simple, natural

V. COMMUNICATION BETWEEN PC AND PLC
NI LabVIEW soItware can communicate with any
programmable logic controller (PLC) in a variety oI ways.
OLE Ior Process Control (OPC) deIines the standard Ior
communicating real-time plant data between control devices
and human machine interIaces (HMIs). OPC Servers are
available Ior virtually all PLCs and programmable
automation controllers (PACs). In this tutorial, learn how to
use LabVIEW to communicate with a networked PLC using
OPC |5|.
The program uses the traditional serial based PLC
OMRON CPM2AH. First complete write the ladder
program by Omron PLC programming soItware CX-
Programmer, then connects the PC to PLC through the
RS232 serial cable, power on, loads the ladder program to
PLC. Then set the NI OPC server. Select Start~program~
National Instruments ~NI OPCServers~ NI OPCServers.
Start the NI OPC Server, Shown in Figure 8. Right-click the
device area to create channel, device drivers select OMRON
host link, and gradually select Next to complete the set.
Right click the channel that just created, select Create
devices, Enter the device name CPM2AH. Then in the right
box, as shown in leIt-click, add tag, enter the tag name and
address, conIigure PLC address, Figure 7. OPC server
settings basically completed.
Fig.7- OPC SEVER setting and address oI the PLC
LabVIEW implies a NI oI OPC Client in DataSocket,
OPC Client communicate with OMRON through the OPC
Sever, interaction data. Here's how to use OPC SEVER to
establish a data connection with the PLC. Generated the
needed communicate controls in the Front Panel; the
controls type oI data should be consistent with the data type
in the OPC. Right click the control, pop-up shortcut menu,
select Properties ~ Data Binding ~ Data Binding select ~
DataSocket, set the appropriate access type and the path,
this will connect Iront panel controls to the PLC address to

realize the PLC control, LabVIEW program is running,

change the value oI the Iront panel controls, data changing
can be observed corresponding to the address on the PLC in
the OPC SEVER; The value oI the variable in LabVIEW
will also change corresponding to the PLC address. At this
point, the PC and PLC achieve real-time communication
based OPC SEVER.
VI. REMOTE MONITORING IMPLEMENTATION
By using the LabVIEW Web server, LabVIEW
program can be posted on the web, the local or remote client
computers can browse or control remote panel, to achieve
remote control oI greenhouse environment equipment.
Using the Web publishing tools, select Tools / Options,
completing the Web server-related settings and the
publishing oI LabVIEW program, shown in Figure 11,
setting Web Server: ConIiguration; Web Server: Visible VI;
Web server: browser access. By setting the Tools / Web
Publishing Tools dialog box, you can publish program in
memory on a web page, the browser client. Users can
remotely monitor and control |6|.
According to the diIIerent soItware installed on the
client, clients have diIIerent methods to access the remote
panels. For example, browse Iront panel on the Web page;
browse HTML Iiles on the Web page; remote monitor Iront
panel in LabVIEW; remote monitor use LabVNC panel.
This paper chose to use a Web browser in a web page
to operator the remote panel. Note that the client computer
should install the Iree LabVIEW Run-Time Engine,
installation space size about 90M. In the LAN, the remote
panel address Iormat is: http:// computer name: port /
viname.htm; in the Internet, the remote panel address Iormat
is http://ip address: port/viname.htm.
When the remote panel appears in the browser, you can
right-click the mouse. In the pop-up menu, you can request
VI control, shown in Figure 8. When multiple clients
monitor the server side simultaneously, sever can be
monitored by multiple simultaneous, but only one client has
control right, the other should wait to obtain control aIter
post-release.
Fig.8- Remote Monitoring InterIace
In the Web server, by using the Tools / Remote Panel
Connection Manager, you can view and control the state and
computer's connection inIormation link to the client.

Using advanced NI hardware and soItware platIorm, we
developed a cold greenhouse control system that reliable,
stable operation in a very short period oI time. Through
theoretical analysis and experiments conIirmed that the
system can eIIiciently capture the greenhouse environmental
parameters, including temperature, humidity, light intensity,
and has strong adaptability, security and reliability. The
system has a very large practical value in complex
