INTRODUCTION
One of the prime purposes of banking is to increase the spread of wealth and enable Indian citizen in meeting their life style aspirations. To meet their goals , Government of India through Finance Minister and RBI, have set certain policy parameters. It was to spread bank branches and capital availability in rural areas. Government of India has 17 nationalized banks in 1985. Banks have established many rural branches. NABAD, IDBI have been providing loans to the farmer. Many non banking financial companies came into existence after economy reform 1990-91. These companies have also been advancing loan to various customers in society. It is seen that both, Bank and NBFC have been accumulating NPA over last 25 years at ever increasing rates. Default payments have become one of the best recovery during my study. Next 11 week, I propose to understand process and procedures of Loan recovery adopted by both bank and financial institution.

OBJECTIVES
To cover the topic, To evaluate the effectiveness of loan recovery procedure adapted by Mahindra finance and selected public and private sector bank. The following objectives will be covered: A) The process and procedure of loan recovery adopted by two public and two private sector banks. B) Process and procedure adopted by Mahindra and Mahindra finance and loan recovery Patiala and it is surrounding area. C) Comparative analysis of recovery process adopted by Mahindra and Mahindra finance and selected banks. D) Evaluation of effectiveness and recommendation.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

A) Data collection plan: Data will be collected from the both primary and secondary sources. B) Sampling technique: Questionnaire method with random sampling. C) Sample size: a) Private sector bank b) Public bank c) 100 customers (who have taken the loan) d) Employees of Mahindra finance.

DATA ANALYSIS

Analysis tool: The following tools will be utilized to analyze data. a) Correlation b) Graphical analysis

DEDUCTION AND RECOMMENDATION


Based on the data analysis carried out from primary and secondary source Deduction drawn will be that the effort should be made to maximize comfort level of both loan given and loan taken. Suitable recommendation which can be implemented by Mahindra finance will be included.
