Prayer for Nigeria as a Nation

Benjamin Franklin former American President once said If men are wicked in spite of knowing God, what they would be like without knowing God? Mahatma Gandhi the man who fought for Indian independence who also introduced politics of non violence also once said Your Jesus I love but you Christians you dont behave as Jesus Christ Gandhi was a Hindu yet Loved Our Lord Jesus. The keyword in Franklins quotation is wickedness of man in spite of knowing God. For Gandhi non-violent is one of the characters of our Lord Jesus, yet Christians have no trace of this in their blood, in particular ,the Britons the colonial master of India who spread Christianity to their colonies. Our nation is passing through trial of hardest type, as if believers are not in the land. Anything in this nation that does not work well is a grand design of every one of us. No one is exempted both rulers and the rule, the righteous and sinners alike .We are all guilty of our misdeeds. May God have mercy on Nigeria.

Why do we need to pray for Nigeria?

Nigeria is rated as the most religious nation in the world and the most populous black nation in the world .Our population is over 140 million people and occupies one-third population of the African continent and indeed the largest democracy in Africa. The nation needs prayer to remain as a nation and to fulfil Gods purpose as prophesised in many crusades for Christ many years back. An anomalous European once said The streets of Nigeria are literally littered with money and Nigerians are too blind to see it and so many are still walloping in poverty. His saying, though an insult, but is in affirmation that Nigeria is richly blessed with untapped natural resources. Charles Darwin in his controversial evolution theory said: when population has reached its carriage capacity (Maximum population) it can support, there got to be calamities like war, pestilence etc to control the population to equilibrium population. This shall not be the situation in Nigeria in Jesus name. Nigeria population shall keep on growing without war, pestilence and the countrys economy shall blossom and grow up without ceiling. Nigeria shall be enlisted among the 20 th top largest economies in the world as President Olusegun Obasanjo economic programme planned. The election is on the way, we want God to select good leaders for us to lead us .The successor of President Olusegun Obasanjo must have love and passion for the poor and the rich alike. He should lift the nation to global political and economic pedestals. May our politicians know that power comes from God and not a do or die affairs. The winners of the election must not build empire of enjoyment for themselves and party men at the expense of suffering poor masses. The looser of the election should use Abraham Lincoln as a role model. Try and Try again as Lincoln one day you will get there!
