Programme Director - 1 position, based in Iringa
Position Overview: The Programme Director will provide leadership for the Iringa Combination Prevention Study interventions leading a team of Iringa-based health and administrative professionals to successfully establish and scale-up key interventions. Working closely with the Chief of Party and technical advisors, the Programme Director will provide strategic, technical and programmatic guidance for the design, development, implementation and reporting of HIV care and treatment, voluntary medical male circumcision, HIV counseling and testing, and behavior change communication activities; as well as establish and maintain excellent relationships with regional, district and ward officials and study partners in order to achieve successful results. Specific Qualifications: Advanced degree in public health, business or other related area. Degree in medicine highly desirable. At least 10 years experience managing health programs at a regional or national level, including planning, designing, budgeting, supervising, evaluating and documenting results of donor-funded programs. Experience managing a team of 20 or more staff in a complex program. Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills, inspiring teamwork and motivating staff, consultants and partners to achieve results. Experience working in HIV care and treatment HIV counseling and testing, voluntary medical male circumcision, sexual prevention with at-risk populations, enhancing linkages to care, and/or strategize behavior change communication desirable. In-depth knowledge of current international evidenced-based HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment best practices and Tanzanian guidelines. Experience working on research programs highly desirable. Excellent systems management and organizational skills. Demonstrated self-management (i.e. motivation, dealing with pressure, adaptability).

Position Overview: The Clinical QA Specialist will ensure compliance with clinical standards in support of the Iringa Combination Prevention Study interventions. S/he will be responsible for adherence to protocols, identifying areas of deviation from protocols, ethical standards, regulations and or guidance, and recommending corrective actions. S/he will take the lead in monitoring the quality of the clinical services offered through this program. Specific Qualifications: Advanced clinical degree in medicine or nursing. MPH highly desirable. Four or more years of experience in clinical quality management and assurance in Tanzania. In-depth understanding of current international evidenced-based HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment best practices. Current knowledge in the field of HIV/AIDS issues, including care and treatment. Since 2009, the MCHIP/Tanzania program, led by Jhpiego, has worked with the Government of Tanzania to scale up voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) services in Iringa, Njombe and Tabora Region; and to provide technical support to the Ministry of Health, as needed. VMMC Programme Director - 1 position, based in Dar es Salaam

Position Overview: The VMMC Technical Advisors will provide project leadership - both technical and programmatic - to partners, Jhpiego staff, Ministry of Health partners, and all stake holders in their regions. Technical Advisors will collaborate with regional stakeholders to design, implement and deliver high quality VMMC services. Specific Qualifications: Qualification as a clinician (Medical Doctor, CMO, or Nursing Degree) required; advanced degree desirable. Early Infant Male Circumcision Technical Advisor 1 position, based in Iringa or Dar es Salaam
Position Overview: The Early Infant Male Circumcision (EIMC) Technical Advisor will lead MCHIPs efforts to pilot EIMC in Iringa and eventually scale up in Iringa and other regions. S/he will work in close collaboration with the Reproductive and Child Health Services group at the national and regional level to design and implement the pilot and subsequent program, and oversee the training of EIMC providers and the quality of the program. Specific Qualifications: Qualification as a clinician (Medical Doctor, CMO, or Nursing/Midwife Degree) required; advanced degree desirable. At least 5 years programming, planning, designing, and supervising public health programs at the national, regional or district level. Experience providing and/or overseeing reproductive and child health services in the public sector. Demonstrated experience working with national, regional and district officials. Experience/qualification as a trainer of trainers, highly desirable. Excellent written and oral English and Kiswahili skills. Position Overview: The Program Officer will work with the MCHIP COP and Programme Directors to ensure the implementation of key activities including reporting, managing consultants, interfacing with partners, and supporting the technical staff. Specific Qualifications: Academic degree in public health, sociology, community development, or other relevant field. Solid programming and technical expertise in HIV programs. At least 3 years experience working on health-related programs with a donor or implementing agency including on planning, designing, budgeting, supervising, evaluating and documenting results. Excellent interpersonal skills, inspiring teamwork and motivating fellow team members, consultants and partners to achieve results. Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform. Drivers Dar es Salaam 1 position, Iringa 9 positions, Njombe 2 positions, and Tabora 2 positions
Position Overview: Drivers will be responsible for the safe transport of MCHIP staff and commodities, as well as simple vehicle maintenance and other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Secondary school education required. Must speak, read and write in Kiswahili. Ability to speak read and write in English highly desirable. Must possess valid Tanzanian drivers license_ Class C, with excellent driving record. At least three years of relevant work experience, preferably with an international organization. Pleasant personality and willing to follow and implement instructions. Ability to work with some independence following instructions from supervisors. Demonstrated ability to handle variety of different assignments, sometimes under pressure of deadlines. Willingness to work long hours. Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of time. Must be a resident of the location where the driver position is vacant.
