CT. The designated five day window for GCE Applied ICT Unit 6953, The Knowledge Worker, is Monday 20 May 2013 to Friday I 24 May 2013. This examination is 2 hours 30 minutes in duration and must be taken in one sitting during the designated five day window.

Notes:

CE Applied ICT unit 6957, Using Database Software, and GCE Applied ICT Unit 6959, Communications and Networks, are G 10 hours in duration, with the candidates performing specific tasks. Centres may split the 10 hours allowed for this examination into sub-sessions. Sub-session timings should be between 1 hour and 2 hours 30 minutes in length. The designated window for these units is between Monday 6 May 2013 and Friday 24 May 2013.

1. Conduct of Examinations

CE AS Music Technology Unit 1 (6MT01) stimulus material should be released to candidates in September 2012 with the work G being submitted to the examiner by 15 May 2013.

TARTING TIMES OF EXAMINATIONS: Each examination must be taken on the day and at the time as shown on the timetable. S The published starting time of all examinations is either 9.00 a.m. or 1.30 p.m. Candidates with more than one examination in a session should take these consecutively. A supervised break may be given between consecutive examinations.

CE AS Music Unit 2 (6MU02) Composition Briefs should be released to candidates in September 2012 with the work being G submitted to the examiner by 15 May 2013.

CE A2 Music 6MU05: Section A - the Composition Briefs will be published on the Edexcel website in September 2012. Section G B - the Technical Studies will be published only in hard copy format. This document will be despatched to centres for release to candidates on 1 April 2013. This document will contain the Technical Studies and the Composition Briefs.

entres may start an examination earlier than, or later than, the published starting time for the session without prior approval from C Edexcel. However, in order to maintain the security of the examination all candidates must start examinations scheduled for a morning session no earlier than 8.30 a.m. and by 9.30 a.m. and for an afternoon session no earlier than 1.00 p.m. and by 2.00 p.m., except where arrangements have been made for dealing with timetable clashes. No other departure from the timetable is permitted without the prior written approval of Edexcel. Applications for such changes must be received by 26 April 2013. Examination centres should refer to the JCQ publication Instructions for Conducting Examinations in the first instance.

2. Subject specific notes

CE French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish, Urdu and Chinese Unit 2 - centres with larger cohorts (e.g. 30+ candidates) wishG ing to maximise use of their language laboratory facilities by arranging for groups of candidates to undertake the Unit 2 listening element at different times are free to do so, as long as they adhere to the following conditions:

There is no fixed period for the preparatory work. Centres are free to structure the supporting studies in any way they choose over the year. However, the date chosen for the eight hour (AS) or twelve hour (A2) test must allow sufficient time for the work to be ready for external moderation between 6 May 2013 and 28 June 2013. If the work is to be sent to Edexcel for moderation it must be submitted no later than 1 June 2013.

Unit 3: Performing to a Commission Unit 7: Production Delivery

GCE Business

he externally set assignment for Unit 6923, GCE Applied Business, must be completed within a maximum of 15 hours under T controlled conditions. The closing date for the submission of this assignment and receipt of marks is 15 May 2013.

The Commission and Production Briefs can be found on the Edexcel website: www.edexcel.com. Please refer to the documents for further details. Assessment will be carried out by centre assessors and externally moderated at the centre visit.

There are no time restrictions or set hours in which the project must be carried out. The only stipulation upon centres is that all work must be completed and assessed by 30 June 2013 at the latest.

he AEA Mathematics examination printed in italic type must be entered through the GCE Awarding Body, shown in brackets, T administering the specification on behalf of all JCQ Awarding Bodies. The GCE Awarding Bodies have agreed to set the Advanced Extension Award (AEA) paper in the May-June 2013 examination series on the date stated.
