LEVEL: SPECIAL NEEDS STUDENTS SUBJECT: SCIENCE SESSIONS 10 sessions.

OBJECTIVES Appreciate the importance of the conservation of trees because paper comes from them. Identify, ask questions and resolve problems related to the environment elements such as the indiscriminate cutting of trees. Think about how we can take advantage of certain fractions of municipal wasting. Get a positive attitude towards recycling. BASIC COMPETENCIES: Competency in autonomous learning and personal initiative. Competency in learning to learn. Competency in linguistic communication.

LANGUAGE: Paper, newspaper, a bucket, glue, a stapler, a mixer, a roller, a spoon, a sieve, a magazine, a sheet, a rolling pin, a cloth .

MATERIALS: A sieve with a framework that can be moved. 4 strips of 23 cm. 4 strips of 32 cm. Wire netting. Glue. A stapler. A plastic bucket A large plastic bowl. Thin and thick cloths A mixer. A wooden roller A spoon Waste paper (sheets, magazines, newspapers).

OPENING ACTIVITIES: Previously students should know: The meaning of recycling . What type of waste can be reused or recycled. The process of making and the reuse of paper

MAIN ACTIVITIES :

Cut the papers that have been accumulated in the bin in small pieces. Accumulate all the pieces of paper in a large container. After having accumulated a good amount of paper, add water (at least as much volume of water as a paper-cut without sticky it) and three or four spoonfuls of glue. Stir to mix the glue. Leave the mixture to stand for a day or two. Once the paper is ready, place the mixture in the liquidizer and process until the paper becomes a homogeneous mass emptying the pulp. Place one part of the paste over the mold with the wire netting. Be careful that the paste is not too thick and it is spread out over the net. Wait on the bowl two minutes, passing the wooden roller on it until it.
Put the paper paste already, with the shape of the sheet, on the table removing the frame and cover it with a cloth. Pass the roller again to remove remains of water and then put a heavy object on it. Let it dry for a couple of days and cut the sheet with the shape you like.

CLOSING ACTIVITIES: Get an assembly of classroom to ask: What did you learn with this activity? What kind of other wasting could be used to recycle? What differences are there between the paper created in this activity and a normal one?

FAST FINISHERS Elaborate different materials from recycled paper that we have made, such as: notebooks, folders, cards, etc.
