Examples of Year 7 activities Class activities will take many forms: whole-class and small-group discussion, reading, comprehension and analysis, writing activities, group work, oral presentations and performances. Homework will help you to practise what you learn in class: for instance, through further thinking, reading, reflecting and writing. You will read a range of books during your library lessons and use Destiny to post your reviews and recommendations to the school reading community. Year 7 Assessment You will complete four kinds of assessment activities throughout the year: creative writing; analysis of literature; essay writing, and oral activities. You will keep a portfolio of your assessment work throughout the year. Year 8 skills You will continue to develop the English skills you acquired in Year 7 and focus upon the following new skills: Making connections between texts; Researching a subject and interpreting your findings; Presenting and defending your views in a discussion;
Writing an essay of exploration, comparison and evaluation in response to literature, film and media.
