JOB VACANCY PROGRAMME OFFICER (Care & Support Programme)

The International HIV/AIDS Alliance is an international non-governmental organisation (NGO) that supports communities in developing countries to play a full and effective role in the response to AIDS. The Alliance is currently seeking to recruit staff for the following position based in Yangon. Job Responsibilities The Programme Officer will be responsible for the implementation of a programme to build the capacity of NGOs and CBOs to develop programmes for care and support for People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA) as well as for prevention of HIV among sex workers and men who have sex with men. Specific activities will include: Liaison with NGO and CBO partners; identifying potential new partners Undertaking the implementation of capacity building for partners, providing technical assistance and training to partner organizations coordinating with the relevant stakeholders Managing grants to partner organizations Promoting leadership and CBO development among target population groups; Contributing to overall strategic design, planning, monitoring and evaluation of the Alliance Myanmar programme. Person specification Essential Bachelor degree in medical field with relevant tertiary education in Public Health, or Social Sciences 2 years proven HIV/AIDS project management and implementation experience Experience in conducting trainings and presentations Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Burmese Desirable Experience working with key populations affected by HIV/AIDS including Sex Workers, MSM and PLHAs Experience in working with local NGOs and community partners Other Qualifications Candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude to working with marginalised populations and people living with HIV.
