Home is Where the Heart is

ext year I will be attending Central Washington University as a college freshman, and I am scared. Not because I will be leaving my friends, I will make new ones and will see my old ones again. Not because I will have a more difficult schedule, I will study hard and do everything I need to do to succeed. I am scared because I am not going to be home, where my heart is, with my family. When people ask me if I am ready for college my response is yes, but I am going to miss

being home. It is going to be so strange to walk into my dorm room where I will be spending a whole year and not knowing the person who is behind the door. She is going to be a complete stranger to me, and I will have to share a room with her for a whole school year. That is one thing I am going to miss about being in my home, my room, my space, and people around me that know who I am. To my family they have known me for my entire life, they know what I like and dislike, they know what irritates me, and what makes me happy. I am going to have to tell that all over again to another

person, and I will have to get to know someone totally new to me. The qualifications to make a house a home are different for each person, but for me it is to just have my family there. Family is extremely important to me, they are what make a house a home and they are what is going to make college that much more difficult because they wont be there.
