effective 20 NOV '44. En less COJnpallY Able was simultaneously atchd to
,I CorPS. and re-attached to 43rd Division. The En moTed to AITAPE,
NEW GunlEA 18 NoV '44 aDd prepared for landilig and -invasion Ullder direction
of 43rd Division. BIl was augmented- by 13 additional tractors (L'V'l'-4)
which were to be operated pertly by Inf"antry Troops taken trom 103. 169.
and 172nd Infantry. .Alnphibian Tanks (12) (LVT-4) were also atchd tor
purpose of landing. Realistic practice landings, firiDg at water borne
targets,. and a school for the men atchd for the landing were held UD:ler
direction of the BIl. 27th Dec '44 826th Amph Tractor BIl participated
in full scale practice landing at AlTAP.I. }r.EW'GUINEl. Vehicles were
re-fueled and re-l06ded on six (6) separate 1ST's for transport to LUZON,
PHILIPPDDI! ISLANIS. Left 28 Dec '44. 'Ihe En was divided into 3 separate
groups for the landing. 1st platoon was under control ot l69th Infantry
and Given mission to land l69th on White Beaqh TWO (2) LINGjYEN GULl,
and to transport troops inland as far as the SAN 7ABI.A.N, DAMORI'IS RR
TRACES. The platoon then to revert to Bl'Jachmilster WHITE BEACH 2, UDder .
533rd EB&SR. 2nd Platoon 826th AMPHIBIAN TRACTOR EN was given mission to
land lO,3rd Infantry 3rd IIU'l'Il3IACH 3. LINl.AYlIN GULF. Immediately upon
landinc the 3rd Bn the vehicles of 2nd Pla1; were to remain e.t tree line
and as 2nd 'nn l03rd Inf came ashore in L04's and LCVl>'s the 2nd Plat
was to load tla.em in their vehicles and proceed torward as rapidly as
possible, aDd transport troops of 2nd ED 103rd Inland. Reconnaissance
was to be furnished by 2nd :sn 103rd Int. 2M plat was to remain with
