School of Public Policy and Governance - Meeting Minutes 6 Sept 2012

Attendees: Beth Elder, Kaleb Ruch (Minutes), Rex Law, Samantha Young (Chair), and Stacey McDonald

Regrets: Adrienne Davidson, Andre Cote, Jacob Mksyartinian, Jane Hilderman, Mia Cappella, Vass Bednar, and Viola Dessanti Homecoming ask James to provide an update on this years event

Communications latest newsletter went out recently many issues coming up in next while so another formal communication will be sent out, Vass taking call for additional items (contact her ASAP with anything else)

Finance Kaleb to provide year-end statement at next meeting Cheque with June event funds coming next week, Kaleb to meet with Sam to get cheques to those with funds outstanding

Mentorship Vass to co-ordinate getting 12 class on library but is looking for assistance to update. Suggestion to include peoples linkedin account as opposed to current position to reduce maintenance required for library Suggestion to investigate including place-tag on profile

Book club call for next round of books, submit to Alumni Network email November book likely to be set soon, following up with author. looking for opportunities to cross-promote with other book clubs at UofT yesterdays event drew attendees that were not alumni - was a positive experience, but may not be scalable.

Governance Additional ideas proposed on committee, working group structure -- Kaleb to update and send out again Homecoming (not James event) Jacob is coordinating this event

Would be best to coordinate homecoming with Alumni Networks AGM to encourage large turnout Proposed date of October 19 for homecoming/governance Need to send out proposed constitution in advance, have call for amendments (link Eventbrite invite) contact: Jacob, Mia, Viola, Andre, Stacey, Beth 3. More mentorship applications for mentors has already gone out; for mentees due out very soon. Kick-off event upcoming Kaleb to follow up with Andre on any required funding; need proposal ASAP if thats the case Events November 4 election pub night Student union interested in co-branding and helping to promote
