O.K., so maybe you cant golf quite as well as Mr. Hogan, but you can golf and help benefit PMTAs TruckPAC. The 2012 TruckPAC golf outing is Sept. 26, and you have the chance to win $5,000 for a hole in one. Your participation is important to the trucking industry throughout Pennsylvania because proceeds benefit PMTAs TruckPAC, our political action committee. Funds generated will allow PMTA to continue our high visibility in the state capital. (Please remember to use a personal check so all the money goes to PAC.) New this year is an opportunity to help TruckPAC with an online auction. PMTA has a framed photograph of Ben Hogans famous 1-iron shot on the 72nd hole at Merion Golf Club to capture the 1950 U.S. Open championship. It also includes an authentic signed Country Club lunch receipt. This would be a great item to have as the 2013 U.S. Open will again be at Merion. The online auction is easy. Beginning Sept. 5, you can email your bid to csmore@pmta.org. The opening bid is $300, and there will be weekly updates. Bidding will close at 5 p.m. on Sept. 24.
