There is no hope of doing perfect research

by Aftab Sarwar under Articles, Random The word research is derived from early modern French which means to examine closely. The general understanding about research is to search for knowledge or as any systematic investigation, to establish novel facts, solve new or existing problems, prove new ideas, or develop new theories, usually using a scientific method. The primary purpose for basic research (as opposed to applied research) is discovering, interpreting, and the development of methods and systems for the advancement of human knowledge on a wide variety of scientific matters of our world and the universe (Wikipedia 1). However, the research is not limited to scientific only. Another form of research called Artistic research is solely dependent on years of experience and practice. Mankind always thought about things around him, which primarily consisted of our own universe. Mans current knowledge about universe is that it is immensely large and possibly infinite in volume (Vergano 2). Man is unable to understand the exact size and volume of it. Similarly it is deduced from scientific research that universe mostly consists of dark energy and dark matter, both of which are poorly understood by man. Hence despite the whole human races ages of research and technological advancements, he is unable to understand the very place where he exists. Mankind is prone to errors. Many theories which he constructed over decades of researching were simply proven wrong after further findings. Mankinds research is based on observations, developing theories based on these observations and intensive experimentation in the favor or against these self made theories. However, it is not possible that everything is observable to mankind or all the aspects of certain phenomenon are observable or measurable to man. Hence the very basis of declaring the principle of a phenomenon or, in scientific term, the law, is highly possible to be incomplete. For example man declared that atom is the smallest particle of matter (Venham 3). At the time of this theory, man had only ability to see up-to the level of atom. However, when technology grew, man could observe further and could further dig into the matter so he found neutrons, protons, and several other particles. Further study revealed that even these particles are further divided into sub-particles called quarks (Jacob 4). These findings never occurred immediately rather they are based on the research and experimentation of several years. Scientists are still in the process of finding further details. While these findings continue, no one can know that when will man find the smallest

particle of matter. Hence the very answer of all the research is still unanswered. However, the notion that perfect research is not possible must not hinder into the way of the process of research itself as the very process enables us to come closer to the actual principles of nature. We become more and more realistic and our findings become more beneficial for humankind. Research is a continuous learning process. One rule of nature understood can further facilitate mankind to understand further rules. For example the space technology learnt and acquired from decades of research and engineering enables us to understand upper atmosphere and space. We can better understand our solar system, the recent example of this the exclusion of Pluto from our solar system. Man has this inherent instinct of find more granted by mother-nature. Therefore, despite the fact that the perfect research is impossible, man will keep searching. Works Cited 1. Research. Wikipedia.org. Wikipedia, 9 Nov. 2011. Web. 10 Nov. 2011. 2.
