10.2 Mega Pixel Still Image Capture

With the Still Image mode, its possible to shoot high resolution still images at a maximum 10.2 Mega Pixels in a 4:3 ratio. Now even bigger prints are possible.
Simultaneous 7.6 Mega Pixel Still Image Recording

Press the Photo button during recording, and you can take* still images up to 7.6 Mega Pixels at a 16:9 ratio.
After shooting, you can capture 3.0 Mega Pixel images from footage.
While watching the High Definition video youve recorded, you can capture 3.0 Mega Pixel images using the supplied software. Now you can also enjoy your favourite scenes as pictures.

The new Film Roll Index function makes it easy to preview your recorded footage by breaking it down into chapters that can easily be accessed via thumbnail display. You can specify intervals of three, six and 12 seconds or up to one or five minutes depending on how much footage youve recorded.

Designing a highly compact High Definition camcorder like the Handycam HDR-CX7E isnt just beneficial for you. Its great for Mother Earth, too, since limited and valuable resources that would have otherwise been wasted on producing a larger camcorder are now conserved. This environmental consciousness is something that happens on every level here at Handycam, every single step of the way.
A radically smaller CMOS sensor* offers greatly reduced power consumption, with the same amazing results and far less of a drain on the worlds electricity supply.

Utilising three separate 1/4-inch ClearVid CMOS Sensors in its imaging system, combined with the Enhanced Imaging Processor,the HDR-FX7E creates HD videowith outstandingly vibrant and accurate colours.

You'll notice that while you still enjoy the same brilliant Handycam picture quality, the lens block is a lot smaller now. That's because metal is also precious and limited.
A single main circuit board replaces three main circuit boards, resulting in a smaller overall body and saving even more materials from needless use. (It's also a lot easier to carry around.)
Finally, less packaging makes transportation from the factory to the store more efficient than ever before. After all, we only have one planet to call home.
