My major research work pertains to Citrus which is as under:1Solved the long overdue and addressable problem of stoinic incompatibility of commercial cultivar of Musambi with Rough lemon rootstock and went successful in enhancing the yield and productive life span for overcoming early tree decline. Such study was firstly undertaken. Technique developed was accepted and research work published in National level Journal (JAR) The other achievement relates to screening of wide a range of Citrus varieties. As a result of this effort seedless varieties successfully acclimated underwent the high demand by the orchardists. Developed maturity indices of different Citrus fruits for developing appropriate picking times for ensuring qualitative harvest of Citrus fruits. Enhanced quality of Kinnow at an early stage of fruit maturity inducing high brix and brix/acid ratio in Kinnow using quality improving rootstocks (Sweet lime, C-35 Citrange and Carrizo Citrange). This exploratory study/research finding have opened a new line of research for further exploitation of different other late maturing citrus varieties both to expand their cropping/fruiting period simultaneously ensuring better fruit quality. Worked on soil management practices and recommended clean cultivation which is being widely followed by Citrus growers as a pragmatic approach for ensuring better yield and fruit quality. Developed research based mathematical approach to produce nursery plants in remunerative manner. The approach, as a result of the personal presentation of the undersigned at the occasion of a seminar at NARC was widely acclaimed. The study appeared in the proceedings of a National level seminar. Worked on the development of heat units and presented the research symposium at University of Agriculture Faisalabad and a letter of recognition was credited to the undersigned as a result of this effort. In the wake of WTO compulsions concerning to the traceability of a wide range of citrus fruit varieties was traced out and a ready reference was prepared to serve the demand of the trade where traceability under WTO is an essential requirement.

Touched neglected but essential area of varietal characterization of some varieties of Citrus fruits and their quality characters studied on scientific lines to enable this station for the releasing outstanding varieties to overcome the problem of monoculture simultaneously diversify the Citrus sector at large. Complied a Situation analysis report on Citrus Quality Deterioration in District, Sargodha and suggested measure to overcome the problem in the best interest of the Citrus Industry the report was duly accepted and published by the Research Information Unit, Faisalabad.

Special assignments entrusted. 1Participated in various nation/international level seminars and symposia to disseminate the research findings of Citrus for creating awareness among all stakeholders of this industry. Performed and still continuing additional duties at resumed Mitchell Fruit Farm Renalakhurd and as a result of which disposed off a large number of true to type grafted nursery plants ensuring proper health, varietal purity and superiority to put Citrus sector on sound footings. These plants include seedless varieties of oranges, grapefruit and limes.
