IT IS TIME TO EXPECT NON-PARTISAN ANSWERS TO OUR NATIONAL SECURITY ISSUES.

America is faced with multiple threats from nuclear proliferation and insurgencies to global terrorism and an equal number of challenges from energy independence and climate change to our diminishing competitiveness. The American Security Project is dedicated to examining issues from a non-partisan strategic perspective, clarifying the challenges, understanding the threats, and crafting sustainable military and non-military responses. Our mission is to forge a bipartisan consensus on a new national security strategy that will enhance Americas leadership; and raise the American publics understanding of critical national security issues.

Mission driven.
In a time of unprecedented change and transition in the news business, one thing remains constant dedication to our mission. As we work to serve audiences on new platforms, to employ new storytelling tools and to adapt our business model, we know some things wont ever change. The principles of public service journalism that guided formation of The McClatchy Company 155 years ago remain rmly in place today: Hold the government accountable. Speak truth to power. Build community. Give voice to the voiceless.
