Question- Take a Case and examine hard & soft aspect Introduction I am taking Dr. Reddys Foundation as the organization of my choice to define the hard and soft aspects of the system. About Dr. Reddys Foundation (NGO) Set up in 1996, Dr. Reddys Foundation (DRF) is a non-profit partner of Dr. Reddys Laboratories. Driven by its belief in the inherent motivation and capacity of the human being for progress given the appropriate and adequate environment DRF innovates and tries out novel concepts that are continuously refined and scaled up to cover larger groups of disadvantaged populations. Seeing the possibilities rather than the problems created by change, DRF plays the role of a change agent in the social sector, by recognizing and pursuing new opportunities to serve that mission, and by engaging in a process of continuous innovation, adaptation and learning. Examining the Hard System of the Organization 1. Objective:Livelihoods Through a wide array of vocational training programs, DRF addresses the issues of employability, income generation and consequent improvement in quality of life. Education DRF strives to provide various opportunities for learning to those who have never been to school, or have dropped out of it; it also works to improve the quality of education in schools. 2. Boundary: - Non-profit organization, No products as output. 3. Environment: - Social: continuously refined and scaled up to cover larger groups of disadvantaged populations 4. Components: - Board of Trustees, regional coordinators, Administrative staffs, teachers ,volunteers ,Infrastructure , IT, Funds etc. 5. Interaction: - Potential Donors, Corporate partners, Government 6. Input: - a. Underprivileged & illiterate children, unskilled people 7. Output: - Educated children & Skilled people 8. Waste: - Dropout from both vocational training as well as schools 9. Feedback: a. Surveys from Industry where people are placed b. Number of students applying for higher education & getting admission in Universities c. Survey from familys of beneficiaries.

Examining the Soft System of the Organization 1. C-Customer:Beneficiaries/Victim: a. Underprivileged & illiterate children b. Unskilled people c. Immediate family members d. Government e. Society 2. A-Actor: - Board of Trustees, regional coordinators, Administrative staffs, teachers, volunteers 3. T-Transformation: - Training & Skill Development 4. W-World View:a. continuously refined and scaled up to cover larger groups of disadvantaged populations b. Upliftment of society c. Improvement in literacy rate. 5. O-Owner: - Board of Trustees, Government 6. E-Environment: 1. Availability of funds 2. Mindset of society 3.
