Course Description : English II : English Communication Arts II : English 1 : 1.2 unit : English II addresses the communication needs of the Second Year students by the adoption of the communicative, interactive and interdisciplinary approach to learning. It integrates the literature of Afro-Asian countries. It is designed to develop in the students their interest and appreciation of literature of other lands and culture as well as to improve their aesthetic taste and values. It is also intended to develop their communicative competence in the different communicative skills. : : OLPCC, a catholic college, as an evangelizing arm of the local church, envisions a totally transformed Christian Community. Thus, OLPCC as sharer in the life and mission of the local church commits to: a. Provide equal opportunity and access to quality education integrating Gospel and Filipino cultural values responsive and relevant to the needs of the times. b. Create in the school community an atmosphere and opportunity for individual transformation that leads to Christian community living. c. Reach out to people enriching their faith-life experience needed in building a just and humane society.

To channel the emergies of the students towards constructive, worthwhile and enriching activities which contribute to the development of a wholesome society and environment. F. To provide opportunities for the development of responsible and committed leaders and members needed in building Christian communities. G. To establish and intensify outreach programs like catechetical instruction, literacy, numeracy, livelihood programs and community building activities. H. To be actively involved in conducting researches and other academic endeavors for the attainment of local, regional and national goals.

7.COURSE/SUBJECT OBJECTIVES 1.Master the principle and rues of good grammar and basic communication skills and apply this in learning other subjects 2.Explore the opportunities offered by listening as a speedy and economical access to information 3. Deepen the understanding of others and strengthen human relations through intelligent and creative reactions to classroom experiences and other real life situation. 4. Develop in the students proficiency both in oral and written English making every Filipino proficient English speaker and writer and apply this competency in communicating with other peoples of the world.
