What is the courses folder?


The courses folder is designed for teacher/EA's to share documents back and forth with students. Only the teacher/EA and the individual student have access to the courses folder. Other students can not see or delete other students work.

The teacher can save documents for the whole class to use (in the handout folder) and the teacher is only person who has the rights to save and delete those documents. EAs can gain access to add documents to students folders as well (see next page for more info). Once a student opens a class document, they are forced to save to another area. Therefore, they can't delete or save over the original copies.

How does the teacher/EA set-up the courses folder?


Each year the courses folders are automatically created with the teachers name. EAs are not automatically attached to students. An email request to IT Services, must be made for EAs to gain access to a students courses folder. Educational Assistants who will be scanning documents for students to use on the computer, must have access to the students courses folders. If a new student arrives at the school, an email request to IT Services, must be made to add that student.

Send in the following information with your request: School Classroom teachers name EAs name Computer login number of the students

Saving a document to the courses folder: 1. Open the document you want to share with your student.

-when a teacher opens their own courses folder, they will see all of their students numbers. *teachers can save into a specific students folder (but then only that student can open it) OR *they can share it in the HANDOUT folder and then all students can open it.
