Khutbah Al Haajah

All Praise is due to Allah: We Praise Him: We beg assistance of Him: We ask Him for forgiveness. We have faith in Him: We have reliance on Him.

We fly for refuge unto Him (to deliver us) from the mischief of our minds and from the evil consequences of our actions.

Whomever Allah directs shall not go astray: and whomever He allows to go astray, no one can guide.

.
that Muhammad is His Servant and His Messenger.

We profess that there is nothing worthy of worship except Allah, and we further profess

Oh you who believe! Fear Allah as He has the right to be feared, and do not die except as Muslims.

(O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person, and from him He created his wife, and from them both He created many men and women, and fear Allh through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship) Surely, Allh is Ever an All-Watcher over you). [alNisaa 4:1],

(O you who believe! Keep your duty to Allh and fear Him, and speak (always) the truth .07 He will direct you to do righteous good deeds and will forgive you your sins. And whosoever obeys Allh and His Messenger (SAW) he has indeed achieved a great achievement (i.e. he will be saved from the Hell-fire and made to enter Paradise). [al-Ahzaab 33:70]. (Sunan al-Nisaai: Kitaab al-Jumuah, Baab kayfiyyah al-khutbah).

Brothers and Sisters and in Islam I am sure many of you have heard about this movie this film So Positions of Muslims But the first thing we need to realize that when someone attacks the character of Rasoolullah then what they are doing is harm none but themselves. Why? Because for a fact that the King of kings, the one who Created all that exists, the One who is in total control Allah Tala has himself praised the character and personilty of Rasullah (SAW):

And Allah Tala also:

Also when the Muezzin gives the Azhan what is the Duaa that we make after the Duaa

So Muhammad SAW is going to be Inshallah be raised to Al Waseelah the Raised platform in Heaven right underneath the Throne of Allah. So Rasullah has been raised and praised by Allah, higher than the noon Sun. And anyone who slings baseless false accusation against Rasullah what will happen to them. What will happen if you go outside and spit at the Sun. Where will the spit go, it will land right back on that persons face. Therefore the ones who makes accusations on Rasullah are actually harming themselves, because when they focus in on and questions Rasullah on baseless accusations, or half truths they are like the one who focuses in one piece of the puzzle, and they do not realize that if they stand back and see the puzzle as a whole they can put it together. The same with Islam if you stand back and put all its pieces together you see how Islam is the truth and how it is the best way of life, decreed by our Creator who knows best how we should live. And Brothers and Sisters in Islam everyone one owns it to their eternal salvation, eternal protection from the fire to know the truth. So when explaining this subject to non-Muslims rationalizing it will only take us so far, but the real question for them is not Rasullahs marriage to Ayesha, but rather is Islam the truth, was a book called the Quran revealed by the Creator of all, 1430+ years ago to a man named Muhammad. That is the real question? And once you have answered that question you come to the realization that Quran is indeed, without a doubt the Word of Allah, then everything else falls into place. And so what we must present to the non-Muslims is that this book, the Quran, first and foremost preserved, not a ah, ee, or

ohoo, has changed since being revealed to Muhammad SAW. This book has all the qualifications of being a divine revealed book. Look at the prophesies that came true in the Quran, look at how science conforms to the Quran, look at the historically facts of the Quran, look at the statistical facts, look at the beautiful balances consice, poetic, language of the Quran, as just some examples. So to this day the examples of the Quran truthfulness, from a historically, linguistic, prophetic, scientific, statistical point is proof for anyone who sincerely, and honestly approaches the Quran, seeking Allahs Guidance. So the challenge to the doubters still remains to this day that the quran has all the undisputable qualifications of the being the word of Allah. And that is how life works, once you understand the qualifications of something or someone then you accept it. As an example I am an Engineer and you might hire me to design for example your house, now you are not going to say, Ok brother Shahir prove to me you are an Engineer. Here is a calculus book, and a physics book, and a mechanical of materials book, and a structural analysis book, and after you solve all the problems in there then I will hire you as to design my house. You just do not do that. You will simply look at my title, my resume, my references, i.e. my Qualifications and accept that I am an Engineer. Same with the Quran, one would not try to rationalize every single word, and ayah, but once one see again, the prophecies, the historical facts, agreement of science with, the statistical balance, the beautiful balanced, concise, poetic language, and that person is honest and sincere, then by the guidance of Allah they have to admit this is book is from non-but Allah Tala. So we should explain with wisdom, and kind englightment everything about Rasullah marriages but again know that people who make accusations on Rasuullah do not have a problem with him, but rather in accepting Islam as the Truth. Therefore, your role and my role should be to explain, again with wisdom and kind enlightment but again we need to turn the conversations to pointing to the fact that Islam is the truth. What should us Muslims know with Regards to Rasullah, multiple marriages, and marriages to young Aisaha. Now I want everyone one pay attention to the full extent possible, because what I am about to say is very important to our Iman.

Abu Huhraiah reports in a Hadith that after fajr on one occasion Rasullah turn around and said that there was a man in the previous nations who mounted his cow, and started hitting it and urge the cow to move. The cow turned around and said to the man I have not been created for riding on (i.e. like a horse) but I have been created for tilling. Abu Hurarah then Reports the Sahabah said Subhan-Allah the cow spoke ya Rasullah. Rasullah said to the gathering I believe that the cow spoke and so does Abu Bakr and so does Umar. Abu Hurahrah said Abu Bakr and Umar were not there. Rasullah SAW in this hadith is pointing to us the qualities of the strong Iman of Abu Bakr and Omar. Meaning that Abdu Bakr and Umar believed in whatever Rasulllah SAW said even if they were not present to hear it. So the lesson as it relates to the subjects of Rasullah multiple wives, or marriage to young Aisha, is that as believers we say that whatever Rasullah SAW said, or did we believe and accept 100%. Rasulllah was, is, and always will be the perfection of human being, therefore even if we do not fully understand the wisdom of something Rasullah SAW said or did We say hear and obey. And this is the quality of the true believers. Allah Tala us this in the Quran:

Yelling Fire in a crowded Theater

My brothers and sisters in Islam imagine you are in a crowd darken theater. Then someone yells out fire, fire in the theater, and then everyone runs to the exits, and people are trampled and killed. When the Police, catch and take the person to court, the person that yelled out fire. That person argues and says I was exercising my freedom of speech. Now here is the question, which judge would buy into that argument. Which judge will hold freedom of speech above the value of human life? My brothers and sisters I would argue that no sane judge would hold freedom of speech above the worth of human life. My brothers and sisters the point of this story is that to us Muslims making insulting, demeaning, disgusting, false films or cartoons or speeches of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) whom we believe whole hearty as Allah says in the Qurran:

(And you are on an exalted standard of character. Or you are the best of creation) (Al-Qalam 68: 4) To us brothers and sisters, demeaning Muhammad (SAW) is just as wrong as yelling fire in a crowd theater. And that is part of the message that we need to convey to our non-Muslim neighbors, colleagues, and co workers, and

associates given the recent incident regarding the produce in LA film released on the internet called Innocense of Muslims.

Rasullahs Response to Insults

In addition what many of our scholars have related that we need to convey is that wanton, violence, and murder are not found to be reactions of Our Beloved Rasullah when reacting to people that insulted him.

Example1: The Insulting Jewish Group

Narrated Aisha: (the wife of the Prophet) A group of Jews entered upon the Prophet and said, As-Samu-Alaikum. (i.e. death be upon you). I understood it and said, Wa-Alaikum As-Samu wal-lan. (death and the curse of Allah be upon you). Allahs Apostle said Be calm, O Aisha! Allah loves that one should be kind and lenient in all matters. I said, O Allahs Apostle! Havent you heard what they (the jews) have said? Allahs Apostle said I have (already) said (to them) And upon you! (Bukhari Book #73, Hadith #53)

Example 2: I am Muhammad
At one point in Mecca, his enemies twisted his name to call him Mudam (The Loathsome) instead of 'Muhammad' which deeply offended his followers. But the Prophet calmly comforted them by stating, "Doesn't it astonish you how God protects me from the Quraish's abusing and cursing? They abuse Mud-am and curse Mud-am while I am Muhammad." Muhammad SAW the Mountain

So brothers and sisters Muhammad SAW is like the mountain what effect will the wind of mosquitios wings like these people that made this movie have on him, on his legacy. Muhaammd SAW is like bright high noon sun- tell me what will happen to someone who spits at the high noon sun. The spit falls back on their faces. So let me spend my brothers and sisters the next few minutes talking about actual non-Muslim scholars of history say about our Beloved Rasullah. Because the our scholars mention the best way to combat the hatred, evil, and false propgranda being spread about our Rasullah is to empower ourselves with knowledge about the true nature, characteristics, ethics, moral of our beloved Rasullah, and convey it through dialogue, and dawah to others.

WHAT HISTORY HAS SAID:

Let me quote what history has recorded about our Beloved Rasool, I will use the quotes from non-Muslims. Sir George Bernard Shaw in 'The Genuine Islam,' Vol. 1, No. 8, 1936. "If any religion had the chance of ruling over England, nay Europe within the next hundred years, it could be Islam."

I have always held the religion of Muhammad in high estimation because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that assimilating capacity to the changing phase of existence which can make itself appeal to every age. I have studied him - the wonderful man and in my opinion for from being an antiChrist, he must be called the Savior of Humanity." "I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that would bring it the much needed peace and happiness: I have prophesied about the faith of Muhammad that it would be acceptable to the Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of today. LAMARTINE, HISTOIRE DE LA TURQUIE, Paris, 1854, Vol. II, pp 276-277

"Philosopher, orator, apostle, legislator, warrior, conqueror of ideas, restorer of rational dogmas, of a cult without images, the founder of twenty terrestrial empires and of one spiritual empire, that is MUHAMMAD. As regards all the standards by which Human Greatness may be measured, we may well ask, IS THERE ANY MAN GREATER THAN HE?" If greatness of purpose, smallness of means, and astounding results are the three criteria of human genius, who could dare to compare any great man in modem history with Muhammad? The most famous men created arms, laws and empires only They founded, if anything at all, no more than material powers which often crumbled away before their eyes This man moved not only armies, legislation, empires, peoples and dynasties, but millions of men in one-third of the then-inhabited world; and more than that he moved the altars, the gods, the religions, the ideas, the beliefs and souls.... His forbearance in victory, his

ambition which was entirely devoted to one idea and in no manner striving for an empire, his endless prayers, his mystic conversations with God, his death and his triumph after deathall these attest not to an imposture but to a firm conviction which gave him the power to restore a dogma. This dogma was twofold: the unity of God and the immateriality of God; the former telling what God is, the latter telling what God is not; the one overthrowing false gods with the sword, the other starting an idea with the words. Philosopher, orator, apostle, legislator, warrior, conqueror of ideas, restorer of rational dogmas, of a cult without images; the founder of twenty terrestrial empires and of one spiritual empire, that is Muhammad. As regards all standards by which human greatness may be measured, we may well ask, is there any man greater than he? Lamartine Histoire de la Turquie, Pans 1854, Vol. 11, pp. 276-77.

Michael Hart In his book 100 -A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History. Revised and Updated for the Nineties." "My choice of Muhammad to lead the list of the world's most influential persons may surprise some readers and may be questioned by others, but he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the religious and secular levels." (M.H. Hart, THE 100: A RANKING OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSONS IN HISTORY, New York, 1978, p. 33)

Juan Cole professor of Middle East and South Asian history at the University of Michigan and author called Sacred Space and Holy War Falwell's comments are problematic for many reasons, not least with regard to historical accuracy. Muhammad forbade murder and the killing of innocents, and never used terror as a weapon in his struggles against his aggressive pagan enemies. Far from glorifying aggression, the Koran says (2:190),

"Fight in the way of God against those who fight against you, but do not begin hostilities, for God does not love aggressors.

Edward Gibbon and Simon Ocklay History of the Saracen Empire, London 1870, p 54.

It is not the propagation but the permanency of his religion that deserves our wonder; the same pure and perfect impression which he engraved at Mecca and Madina is preserved, after the revolutions of twelve centuries by the Indian, the African and the Turkish proselytes of the Koran... The Mahometans have uniformly withstood the temptation of reducing the object of their faith and devotion to a level with the senses and imagination of man. I believe in One God and Mahomet is the Apostle of God' is the simple and invariable

profession of Islam. The intellectual image of the Deity has never been degraded by any visible idol; the honors of the prophet have never transgressed the measure of human virtue; and his living precepts have restrained the gratitude of his disciples within the bounds of reason and religion. He was Caesar and Pope in one; but he was Pope without Pope's pretensions, Caesar without the legions of Caesar: without a standing army, without a bodyguard, without a palace, without a fixed revenue. If ever any man had the right to say that he ruled by the right divine, it was Mohammad, for he had all the power without its instruments and without its supports. Bosworth Smith Mohammad and Mohammadanism, London 1874, p 92. It is impossible for anyone who studies the life and character of the great Prophet of Arabia, who knows how he taught and how he lived, to feel anything but reverence for that mighty Prophet, one of the great messengers of the Supreme. And although in what I put to you I shall say many things which may be familiar to many, yet I myself feel whenever I re-read them, a new way of admiration, a new sense of reverence for that mighty Arabian teacher. - Annie Besant The Life and Teachings of Muhammad, Madras 1932, p 4 His readiness to undergo persecution for his beliefs, the high moral character of the men who believed in him and looked up to him as leader, and the greatness of his ultimate

achievement all argue his fundamental integrity To suppose Muhammad an impostor raises more problems than it solves. Moreover, none of the great figures of history is so poorly appreciated in the West as Muhammad. - W Montgomery Watt Mohammad At Mecca, Oxford, 1953, p 52. Muhammad, the inspired man who founded Islam, was born about AD. 570 into an Arabian tube that worshipped idols. Orphaned at birth, he was always particularly solicitous of the poor and needy the widow and the orphan, the slave and the downtrodden. At twenty he was already a successful businessman, and soon became director of camel caravans for a wealthy widow. When he reached twenty-five his employer, recognizing his meet, proposed marriage. Even though she was fifteen years older, he married her, and as long as she lived remained a devoted husband. Like almost every major prophet before him, Muhammad fought shy of serving as the transmitter of God's word, sensing his own inadequacy But the angel commanded Read'. So far as we know, Muhammad was unable to read or write, but he began to dictate those inspired words which would soon revolutionize a large segment of the earth: "There is one God." In all things Muhammad was profoundly practical. When his beloved son Ibrahim died, an eclipse occurred, and rumors of God's personal condolence quickly arose. Whereupon Muhammad is said to have announced,' An eclipse is a phenomenon of nature. It is foolish to attribute such things to the death or birth of a human being." At Muhammads own death an attempt was made to

deify him, but the man who was to become his administrative successor killed the hysteria with one of the noblest speeches in religious history: 'If there are any among you who worshipped Muhammad, he is dead. But if it is God you worshipped, He lives for ever'. James A. Michene~ "Islam: The Misunderstood Religion," Reader's Digest (Amencan ea.) May 1955, pp. 68-70.

What about Rasoolullah (SAW) contemporaries,

what about those who lived during Rasoolullah (SAW) time. What did they say about him (SAW). Let me give an example who was one of the biggest enemy of Islam, amongst musrik meckkans, this man led the battle against the Muslims in Uhud and Khandaq. We are of course talking about Abu Sufyan. Abu Sufyans daughter Habiba who had become a Muslim migrated to Abissyina to escape the persecution of the Mushrikeen, with her some husband and other Muslim. There in Abissyina her husband became a Christian, and eventually died, there in her hard time Rasullah (SAW) proposed to Habiba, and she accepted. When the Mushrikeen revealed this news to Abu Sufyan, who again was a great enemy of Islam at that time, when they told her Muhammad has proposed to your daughter. What did he say. Did he say naaboubillah Muhammad is a terrorist, did he throw a fit, did he get mad? No he said, And who is better than Muhammad

Now let me quote the best of history, the history revealed by the King of the Universe Allah Tala. Referring to Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) Allah, Most High, says,

(And you (stand) on an exalted standard of character.) (AlQalam 68: 4)

(You have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct) for any one whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day, and who engages much in the praise of Allah.) (Al-Ahzab 33: 21) So we ask Allah to help, guide, and give us strength to be amongst those who convey the real message through our actions, words, and deed of our Beloved Rasool.

May Allah grace you and us with the blessings of the grand Qurran, and may it benefit us and you with the verses and with wise commemoration, for He the Almighty is Generous, Noble, Sovereign, Benign, Compassionate, and Merciful. END OF PART I 33:56 Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O ye that believe! Send ye blessings on him, and salute him with all respectable salutation.

Let us continue with the characteristics of our beloved Rasool. Allah Tala says in Surat Anbiyaa ayah 107:
Muhammad: A Mercy to Mankind

21:107 And We sent you not, except as a Mercy for all of creation.

Example of the Mercy of Muhammad

An example of the Mercy the Prophet SAW is conveyed to us by in Sahih Al Bukari by Anas who said, "I served the Messenger of Allah for ten years, and he never said a word of displeasure to me (Uff), nor did he ever say to me concerning something I had done: `Why did you do that' And he never said to me concerning something I had not done: `Why didn't you do this' He had the best character, and I never touched any silk or anything else that was softer than the palm of the Messenger of Allah . And I never smelled any musk or perfume that had a better fragrance than the sweat of the Messenger of Allah.'' Imam Al-Bukhari

Conclusion
In my conclusion My brothers and sisters in Islam. Part of the problem today is that most non-Muslims, have reduced religion to being rituals, and rites, that one does for an hour on Sunday, or Saturday, or Monday. For many religion is something personal between them and God, and they abhor, and are fearful of organized religion, and revelation. And so many people have come up with their who personal believes about God and religion. I was even told by a local journalist who interviewed Salman Rushdie, who author a book called Satanic Verses which insults our Quran and our Prophtet, I was told that Salman Rushdie says he believes in God but hates all organized religions.

Of course as Muslims we believe that the only way to salvation is obeying the Revelation of Allah, by following the way of Rasullah, and thus striving for the mercy of Allah to be saved from the hell-fire. So our challenge is to embody the actions, morals, character, and manners of Rasullah (SAW). Only then will we practically convey to the non-Muslim world who our beloved Rasool is. And finally let me also convey the opinion of one our scholars Shiekh Kutty from Canada who said:
The role of all Muslims worldwide is to take all legal and constitutional channels to champion their rights and repel the aggression done against the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), using all peaceful means to disseminate the true teachings of Islam. Muslims should seize this incident to shed more light on the great nature and enlightenment of the Prophet Muhammad in an attempt to educate those who ignore many aspects of his great character and how he can be a model to follow in today's world.

Poem on Rasullah by Waeem Mahmoud

I will end with a poem written by a young Brother in Kabul Afghanistan that expresses to world what Muhammad SAW means to us: I have a story my friend A message I would like to send With a painful beginning but a happy end 1500 years ago people lived in a world so dark No knowledge, no religion, nothing to spark A gloomy world so gray People did nothing but eat, drink and play And to plenty false gods pray

If a baby was a girl, she was quickly buried away Alive, with no guilt, how cruel were they They had to have someone to enlighten their way Someone so different, someone who could say Leave the dark and invite them to day

A modest prophet carrying a message of peace From Allah the One to release All mankind, entire humanity Who were away behind, from complete vanity A message of love That would take them above The simple message is Allah the One He, has no wife, he has no son Everyone, has companions, He has none All, this universe is by Him alone run What He wants to happen, by a word is done And when He wants to end it, everything is gone

My merciful prophet recited what he heard From the Holy Spirit word by word Sent by Allah the one, no second, no third

While the message was so simple to convey Many stood in my kind-hearted prophet's way They preferred darkness and on it they chose to stay The light they fought, not only refused They, were not mixed up, they were not confused

The truth they have definitely known But they stayed on the darkness upon which they've grown

But my beloved prophet insisted And all their trials resisted He had to spread the religion raising Allah's name My dear prophet had no other aim Not money, not marriage, not even fame For us he had to go through lots of pain Whenever he was refused, he tried again and again

My prophet's message is simple and brief Islam is simply the religion of relief Worshipping one God is its main belief It is not a religion of sorrow and grief In Islam there is no slave, there is no chief Islam is for everyone you know For those high up, and those down low Islam is a religion of love and respect It's much more merciful than you expect Islam came to enlighten Not to threat and frighten It is the religion of Oneness not of division Then you are free to make your own decision

My patient Prophet who could not write or read By love and mercy managed to lead

By loyalty and democracy indeed Now you know him for sure Islam is a religion so pure The religion to which I belong I know I kept you so long But this is my religion and that's my prophet That was my message, I hope you've got it

Ye have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct) for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day, and who engages much in the praise of Allah. (21)

So we ask Allah to help to know our Prophet the way we should know him, we ask

Ending Admonition

O servants of Allah verily Allah commands justice and the doing of good and the giving unto kindred (what shall be necessary) and he forbids wickedness, iniquity, and oppression

He admonishes you that you may remember (Him). And indeed the commemoration of Allah the Almighty is the loftiest of Actions, preferable, powerful, majestic, perfect, and most important and the grandest of all things.
