Social Justice Sunday is celebrated 30th September. The 2012-13 Social Justice Statement is titled The Gift of Family in Difficult Times: The social and economic challenges facing families today. The Statement asks Catholics to think about these challenges and to give special consideration to the most vulnerable people in our society. Creating Peaceful Families in a Violent World: You are invited by the Warrnambool Region Social Justice Group to hear a presentation by Simon Reeves, Pace e Bene Australia Peace Associate/Social Worker/Youth Worker, in response to the Australian Catholic Bishops 2012 Social Justice Statement. Venue: St Josephs Gathering Space on Sunday 30th September: 7.30-9.30pm. Donation appreciated. Farewell to Bishop Connors: A Mass of Thanksgiving will be celebrated in St Patricks Cathedral, Ballarat on Monday, 1st October at 6.30pm to acknowledge Bishop Peters retirement and his many years of service to the people of the Diocese. This is an open invitation, you are most welcome to attend. Fr Peter Claridge RIP: Fr Peter died on Wednesday morning. He was well-known in this region as he was the Administrator in Koroit, the Parish Priest of OLHC, East Warrnambool and St Josephs, Timboon as well as being an Assistant Priest here at St Josephs. His Requiem Mass is Tuesday at 10.30am in Warracknabeal and burial is in Ararat at 3.00pm.
