Executive Summary Todays world is of cut throat competition, advantages lies in quickly adaptation of changing technology. One of the most emerging technology in the field of networking is of Cloud Computing & Network Virtualization

Cloud computing is the providing of computing and storage capacity function to the user on demand and charge them for using these services on peruse basis. it occur in three forms as infrastructure as a service, platform as a service & software as a service. Type of computing are puplic, private and hybrid in nature.

Many agencies are involved in research in area of computing such as St Andrews Cloud Computing Co-laboratory & Academic Cloud Computing Initiative (ACCI). Open source software mainly Hadoop Framework & VMwares cloud foundry has provided the foundation for cloud computing . The cloud computing has many advantage of reliability , cost effective & error free operations but it also suffer from many defects such as political issue, privacy of data shared, unauthorized use of shared data

The government agencies such as U.S Federal agencies from time to time issue directive( using fedRAMP) related to Cloud computing companies has to follow these rules in order to do business in legal framework

Most cloud providers expose APIs that are made under a Creative Commons license but different in their implementation and thus not interoperable

IntroductionIn todays modern world technology has changed our life a lot especially the communication technology ,this mainly happen due to deep research done in the field of cloud computing and network virtualization. Cloud computing is the delivery of computing and storage capacity to the end user or recipient (customer) .Basically it is a marketing jargon the essential meaning is the sharing of computing and storage capacity. There are three typesInfrastructure as a service (IaaS), Platform as a service (PaaS), Software as a service (SaaS).Main players in cloud computing areas Amazon Web services, Google, IBM cloud models. Deployment models of cloud computing consist of Public Cloud in which resources are made to general public by resources provider, Community Cloud in which resources are restricted to particular groups or community, Private Cloud in which resources are for single organization ,last one is Hybrid Cloud which is combination of two or more clouds( public, private or community). Network virtualization is the combining of software and hardware network functionality and resources into a common unit known as virtual network. Basically it consist of Platform virtualization and Resources virtualization. It is categorized as either external, combining many networks or internal, providing network like functionality to software containers into one single system. Example of Network virtualization is Open Solaris Network Virtualization. The advantage of cloud virtualization are lots thats why its becoming increasingly popular like proper utilization of resources, faster computing and cost effective Besides being advantageous it has some security concerns also due to system vulnerabilities arising in sharing of resources in Hybrid computing.

REPORT ___________________________________________________________________ CLOUD COMPUTING- To provide computing and storage capacity to the user on the pay per use basis

*Pictures is taken from Wikipedia Types of cloud computing Infrastructure as a services- This is the basic cloud service models ,in which cloud provide offer computer as a virtual machine and other resources to the user, these virtual machines are run as a guest by hypervisor. The

other resources include file based storage, firewall, software and VLANs. Example- Amazon cloud formation, Google computer engine. Platform as a services- The resources which are shared in this model are programming language execution environment, web server, database and operating system. Example- Amazon Elastic Beanstalk, Google APP Engine. Software as a services- cloud provider runs and installs application software in the cloud network and the user can use it on run time basis, it nature is dynamic Examples- Google Apps, Microsoft Office 365

FeaturesStrength1- Improves the users ability to re-provision the existing technological infrastructure. 2-Provides application programming interfaces. 3-Resorces utilization became system and location independent in nature. 4-Reliability improves suitable for business continuity and disaster recovery. 5- Security improved due to centralization of data. 6-Performance can be constantly monitored. 7- Maintenance is easier. 8-Service offered is off on-demand in nature. Weakness1-If the centralized got effected by cyber criminals they can harm much. 2-Lots of concern for the privacy of data is arises(instances such as secret NSA

project working with AT &T, recording telephone calls of citizens). 3-User of cloud computing have to adopt hybrid cloud model which is expensive one to have compliance with government policies of FISMA, HIPSA & SOX in USA. 4-Legal issue of trademarks infringement 5- Security concern of sharing of propriety data, that it will not be misuse. Cost analysisRunning cost-Cost reduce by using a public cloud delivery model because in this capital expenditure is converted to operational expenditure. Infrastructure is typically provided by a third-party so there is no need to purchased for infrequent use so saving infrastructure cost. Pricing is also made on utility basis thus lowering running cost Mainly the costs savings depend on the type of activities supported and the type of infrastructure available in-house. Maintenances cost- Maintenance cost is lowest because all the software and infrastructures are provided by third party. Cost-Benefit analysis- Many industry analysts such as Garter, Forrester regularly compare the cost and benefit analysis of cloud computing. These scientists have devised several models to do comparison of TCO (total cost of ownership) and other similar metrics of traditional model and cloud computed model. Example- Considering two Emantra customers of having 100 and 1,000 users. The unit "TCO" of a single Microsoft Exchange 2010 mailbox was calculated to be around $46 and $36 per month. The estimate can be compared to the cost of Emantra's multi-tenant Hosted Exchange which is approx $15.95 per month (ex GST). The above said TCO include the following cost1- Five year amortisation of licence cost 2-Server & installation cost

3-Cost of hardware 4-Maintenannce contracts 5-Software assurances 6-Technical labour cost 7-Training, replacement and recruitment cost 8- Insurance, data room costs including power, environmental and bandwidth Savings- For larger organisation- savings in the order of 55%( $30 per mailbox per month, or $1.8 million over five years). For the smaller organisation, the saving was at 65%. Application area- There of lots of area where cloud computing is becoming must needed in demand 1-System back-up and Recovery- In todays business investing in a ton of duplicate infrastructure is not a profitable task instead it is advisable to use cloud computing for that 2-Payroll &CRM- These task of repetitive nature and required expertise solutions, so better is to use cloud computing solutions. 3-Intensive Analytical Application- Every company cannot invest to manufacture super computers so it is advisable to take help of cloud computing for deep analytical calculation intensive applications for example collaboration of Wolfram Alpha & Xignite. 4-Mapping services- many companies use Google maps applications. 5- Search & Identity Authentication- such as Google & Oauth

RecommendationIn todays world it is not possible for every company to acquire & excel in all the emerging technology , but these technology is necessary to run the business in cost effective way so it is advisable to take services of cloud computing firms Basis of recommendation1-quick changing nature of technology 2-Large database maintenance is needed in the globalised economy. 3-Cost effectiveness of the data 4- Security of data is necessary 5-Real On time solution is needed 6-Complexity of the problem is increasing day by day . Area of RecommendationProblem involving of repetitive & specialised nature - such as payroll management Problems involving complex analytic in nature. CONCLUSIONTo survive in this competitive world we have to adopt with changing technology so that we cannot lose our customer base and excel in comparison to our competitor No standalone company can deal with the problem of multidimensional character in globalised economy By using the cloud computing services we save our time which can be utilised in other process, chance of error in performing repetitive nature work also reduced because these works are now taken care by expert.
