Week 3 Day 2

1.

God's Word for Today

1 Peter 2:91 You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

2. 3.

All of us are born with the first Adam's nature. (sinful nature) Solomon describes his achievements (accomplishments) as worthless (futile).
Ecclesiastes 2:11 When I considered all that I had accomplished and what I had labored to achieve, I found everything to be futile and a pursuit of the wind. There was nothing to be gained under the sun.

4.

You need to be sure of yourself. You cannot develop meaningful relationship with others if you are unreal (wearing masks). Let God help you to become the real person He intends for you to be. To love others, you must first love yourself.
Matthew 19:19 "Love your neighbour as yourself."

5.

6.

God wants you to feel good and to take care of yourselves. The Bible tells husbands to love their wives as they love their own bodies.
Ephesians 5:28 In the same way, husbands are to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

7.

What evidence suggests that you love yourself? I take care of my physical needs. I seek to grow spiritually. I seek to grow mentally. I take care of my physical health by exercising and eating well. Prayer Take off your mask. Be real. Ask God to mold you into the new creation He wants you to be.

Week 3 Day 3

1.

God's Word for Today

1 John 1:9 " If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

2. 3.

The self seeks balance. Our lives are very much like a seesaw. Life's problems make us think less of ourselves. Life's problems make us feel guilty and this pushes us further down. But that selfish nature wants to get back up.

Pressures and problems push down on us.

The old nature uses wrong ways to get back up.

4.

How do we achieve balance? Go to the cross. There we are clear and clean and balanced and do not have a running battle or ruptured relationships with anyone. Go to the cross; die to self and let Jesus be Lord and He will bring balance to your life.

5.

If someone blames you when you are not guilty, take that to the cross too. Do not let bitterness build up. If someone criticize you, do not be devastated by their criticisms. When you live a holy life and God begins to love through you, some people will be upset. This is because your lifestyle condemns theirs. Their inferiority complex gets irritated and they try to put you down to start feeling better about themselves. Don't be upset. Love them anyway. Achieving Balance in your life.

6. 7.

8.

i. ii.

Accept yourself as balanced because God has made you to be the best you can be. Be faithful in the things you can do. Do not judge yourself or be condemned by anybody's else standard. Do not compare yourself with others. You are you.

iii. Do all you can do for the glory of God. Do not worry about your achievement level.

Week 3 Day 5

1.

God's Word for Today

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not conceited, does not act improperly, is not selfish, is not provoked, and does not keep a record of wrongs. Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for languages, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end.

2.

Love is meeting needs. If you truly loves others, you will delight in meeting their needs. God has given the home as the context in which we learn to build relationships. Have you been hurting silently because a family member seems to be overlooking your needs? Ask God to help you love him/her first. Ask God for wisdom to express your needs appropriately. Within your home, you need to meet your spouse's needs and your children's need also. Pray for your children. Pray for the Holy Spirit to speak to them, to convict them. Also, pray that the Holy Spirit will make you the kind of fathers and mothers our children need. There is no better success story for a mother and father than to see their own children radiating the character of Jesus Christ in their lives.
