Experience Abroad
I had the once in a lifetime opportunity to visit Gothenburg, Sweden. I worked closely with the College of Education staff and students at Gothenburg University to learn more about the Swedish school system. We collaborated with teachers, students, and professors to learn more about the Swedish educational system while also sharing our knowledge of the educational system in America (more specifically Metro Atlanta). My colleagues and I had the chance to visit classrooms at a Montessori school, Island area schools, and a Multi-cultural school. We not only learned more about the academic area but also the cultural area. I experienced the life of students by visiting multiple classrooms, eating school lunches, and participating in outside activity with the students. I made many life-long connections with professors and students, enhanced my overall view of education, and experienced what it is really like to be a second language learner.
