Hon. Paul R. Screvane, President
City Counc 11
City Hall
New York 1, New York
Dear Mr. Screvane:
February 9, 1965
At the Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees held
on January 25th, it was pointed out that the Corporation's
By-Laws provide for a Regular Meeting of the Board to be held
on the third Tuesday in March {March 16th, in 1965}, and that
Special Meetings may be called upon order of the President at
any time. Although no formal vote as to the time, date and
place or the next meeting was taken, it appeared to be the
sense of the meeting that, if feasible, the next meeting of
the Board be held during the third week in February.
Since the January 25th meeting, I have been inform-
ally advised by a number of the Trustees that they will be un-
able to attend a meeting during the week commencing February
14th. In addition, Mr. Joseph A. Martino, Chairman of the
Nominating Committee, has advised Mayor Wagner that, in view
of the additional responsibilities given the Committee at the
last meeting, he will require additional time for the Committee
to be in a position to present to the Board its nominees for
President, members of the Executive Committee, and members of
the Scope and Planning Committee. Under the circumstances, it
is apparent that no useful purpose would be served in having
another meeting prior to the Regular Meeting of March 16, 1965.
Accordingly, the next meeting of the Board will be
held on that date. I trust that this change in the Board's
tentative plans will not inconvenience you, and hope that you
will be able to attend on March 16th, which is expected to be
an especially productive meeting. You will, of course, re-
ceive formal notice as to the time and place of the March 16th
meeting.
Hon. Paul R. Screvane

Dear Mayor Wagner:
5 March, 1965
It has occurred to me that in the development of the
goals and programs of the of and Technology, the
Board might wish to avail itself of experienced management
counsel. Having nearly 20 years' background serving major
corporations, leading institutions and government agencies, we
are in a position to orovide orofessional assistance to the
Board in !reparing basic operating plans and in setting up
administrative practices for the gover!1f'lent of the Museum.
Should such service be indicated, we should like an opportunity
to present our qu0lifications.
Sincerely,
Robert B. Wilson
