Personal Mission Statement:

Want to develop student community who can become beacon light for society in teaching principle centred life based on Time tested Vedic Knowledge by which society can become really happy.

Why it is important? Because we see the students especially Indians being fascinated by western culture and media , neglecting their own culture and good samskaras given by family but falling prey to Bad Habits which is not only block in their path of progress but also for the society. These are very practical problems now youth is facing. An individual who is having bad habits lack character because habits form character. As said by covey Character Ethic has been replaced by personality Ethic in the recent past and people are after it. Rather person whose centre of life will be in either Self centredness or pleasure centredness, if his life is centred on correct principles he will be able to live a life of contentment and can contribute himself to a greater extent to society. Examples can be taken from the puranas, the demons lived in previous ages they lived a life based on self centredness/pleasure centredness, result is they have created havoc to the society but on the other hand if we see people who had placed their centre on principles/Dharma technically called laws of God, they have been like beacon light for whole world. Ex: King Yuddhistir, King Bharath, Lord Rama, Lord Jesus Christ. So the Knowledge and realisation of the Soul as explained in Gita has several practical benefits for one even in modern age: Acquiring Divine Assets and Freedom from Demoniac nature: to live a life with Consciousness, I am not this material body, I am Pure Spirit Soul directs one to cultivate divine qualities as humility, contentment, tolerance, patience, sweetness, equipoise, universal love, honesty and sincerity etc.. Cultivation of such qualities

brings peace and happiness now and at the same time leads one to the world of eternal joy. On the other hand qualities normally found in those leading a life of bodily consciousness are selfishness, intolerance, craving for flickering pleasures, arrogance, false pride, anger etc which take one away from harmony with nature and God. People who think that everything is finished at death try to selfishly accumulate as much as they can without caring for others, like Duryodhana. Ignoring God, considering themselves to be ultimate controller and centre of everything, they consider everything as objects of their enjoyment. If you draw millions of circles with a common centre, there will be no clash, similarly when one understands God to be centre of the universe, then all living beings can live without quarrel. When everyone considers,I am the centre then it is like drawing multiple circles with different centres all clashing with one another. What is my action plan? To achieve what I dream, as under circle of influence first I can change myself by living a life of Character based on eternal principles of wisdom and I will simultaneously work out in my circle of concern to little extent during my student career. Since people see success as personality ethic rather a character ethic, so my personality ethic also serves as a tool to spread the importance of Character Ethic. My Core Competencies: Knowledge of the field I have studied and relationship building. How to do? Currently we have got a club in IITM which is working in similar lines. Using this as platform, In college we can find students who are equal minded, similar goals in the direction. So in order to identify them we conduct sessions and channelize their energy also in a constructive way, in

long run they can contribute by leading a life of role model for others at the same time working up on their character building and become leaders in their respective fields and inspire others to follow the same, but my major working in accomplishing my goal starts when I get settled in my career..
