Benefits of Being Meek 1. What are the benefits/rewards of being meek a. The Meek Will Have ________________ i. Colossians 2:12> Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;


Titus 3:2> To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. 1 Timothy 6:11> But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. II Timothy 2:25> In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

f. Dont _________________ i. Moses was labeled the most meek man on the earth and there are at least two examples in scripture where his reactions were not meek. People push our buttons, our flesh is often tempted and just because we are not perfect. If we were perfect, Christ would not have had to die on the cross. ii. Run to win: I Corinthians 9:24-27> 24 Know ye not that they which run in
a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

iii. His Word says he will not allow you to be tempted beyond your ability to overcome that temptation: I Corinthians 10:13> There hath
no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Meekness is humbling ourselves to God and REACTING to a situation in the way He has directed in His Word!
